Thank you (lemmy.ca)
submitted 8 months ago by thayer@lemmy.ca to c/voyagerapp@lemmy.world

I just want to say thank you for Voyager. This has become my go-to Lemmy app on Android for several months now and I'm loving the new features and fixes we're seeing with each release. Your dedication and hard work has not gone unnoticed!

Mhhh that smooth color name. Are any microtransactions planned for getting a colorful name like that? (I am joking...or am I?)

How's it compared to boost if you're familiar with it?

I rate Voyager as being in a different class altogether, since it is free and open source. I will always choose FOSS over proprietary software, particularly for network-aware apps, whenever a viable solution exists.

I haven't tried Boost for Lemmy yet, but I didn't care for it on Reddit (my wife loved it though and used a lot of its moderator features). I used Relay for several years myself, and then Infinity for Reddit until I left the platform.

There is also Jerboa though idk what if anything has been happening with it lately. Any comparison?

Boost comes with a lift y of bells and whistles, but in all honesty, voyager is pretty good out of the box. Not to mention the dev is honestly the most active I have ever seen.

Also, the fact that's it's open source is a plus.

I switched from Boost to Voyager. I even liked Boost enough to buy the ad free version, but I'd often find bugs and issues that never got fixed. I haven't run into any problems with Voyager.
