The first thing you should do is try and check if you can reproduce the issue with a new empty 2nd profile (ref. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles ) Report back with your results.
Is there a need for this as I alone am not facing this issue? I mean, many people are and I think it was classified as a known bug.
WhatsApp is rolling out a fix as stated multiple time. This isn't related to any specific Firefox version or Firefox update. It'll start working again once you've received the WhatsApp update.

If you have issues on other sites then i would suggest that you first check if you can reporduce the issue with a empty 2nd profile, as stated before.
I refreshed firefox and except for one website, whatsapp and other websites seems to be working fine.
So, all clear/good then?
edit: just saw the edited post title ... guess thats a yes :-)
for the time being. I thank you for your support and help :)
I ran into the problem enough that I switched to Waterfox to get away from it :/
Waterfox is pretty bad compared to FF acc to me. I would live with this problem than switch :(
edit: I refreshed firefox and except for one website, whatsapp and other websites seems to be working fine. Make sure you save the extensions and extension settings (and if you are not logged into your Mozilla account, everything else before you do it, even the themes, I lost a good theme because I didn't save it and even my mozilla account didn't sync it back)
