My pc is on wheels to the right of my desk. To quickly access it, I either screw off the glass side panel to make minor changes.
Anything bigger, I disconnect all the cables from the rear, roll my pc to am easier spot and just do whatever is necessary.
Ever since I last moved, my gpu brace has become crooked. I deal with it because it's not that big of an issue.
Since I went with a MiniITX build I’ve never felt more free in where I can place my PC.
My computer used to sit under my desk for years, gathering dust and just being this bulky annoying thing that I never knew what to do with. I made an eBay filter telling me when a new listing with the words ‘mini itx bundle’ came up, and after a few months I managed to snag a great mini itx bundle. I needed then was a case and a power supply.
Tinkered with it for a day and it works great. The PC lives on my desk now, and I can easily change a drive, or move a cable that is grinding on a fan if I need to (damn CPU cooler fans and their long cables!!). I even ended up moving my pc to the living room for the weekend to play Armored Core on the projector, as streaming to the living room would have latency.
All I’m saying is that a mini itx build is a liberating build, and it’s much quieter and runs as cool as my full tower that is supposed to have ‘great’ airflow.
I had to take my PC apart yesterday because it wouldn't boot
Granted, I run a 3.9 L case, so I just move my key board slightly out of the way.
My pc is in a hanging setup mounted to an uplift desk. When I need to access it I can raise the desk and pivot it to get inside. It works pretty well though the mount itself could be a little better.
