  • Brush: AP Shave Co Lemondrop 28mm SynBad

  • Razor: ]Red Imp 5/8" Near Wedge](https://imgur.com/a/vwHUmh6)

  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Vespers - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Lavender - Toner

  • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann - Vespers - Aftershave

  • Talc: Yardley Gold

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This Red Imp is very pointy at the toe. I've muted it a little, but am still aware of the toe when I use it. No issues today, though, and this little wedge gave me a great shave.

Can't go wrong with Vespers

Agree. Probably the last time I will use it until the fall, though, except for Christmas in June day during the Lather Games (assuming there is one).

Fougère Friday

  • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BOAR (31 mm × 57 mm bleached boar)
  • Razor: Mühle R41 GT Berlin edition
  • Blade: Personna Platinum
  • Lather: Chicago Grooming Co. / House of Mammoth Armonía
  • Aftershave: Chicago Grooming Co. / House of Mammoth Armonía
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Heather

Still getting to know Armonía and still loving it. The combo with Heather is promising; Armonía dominates initially and I'm looking forward to picking up more and more heather as the splash diffuses.

I see the auto post didn't work again, even with my last "fix". I've implemented a new "fix", where the whole VM will reboot once every 3 days. I don't like it, but I think it's the only way right now.

When the auto-bot stops working, a reboot results in the missed posts going through -- so they get stuck somewhere.

At least Lemmy itself runs well!

I also noticed that our backups stopped working a couple of weeks ago, and it turns out it's because of... ME! I changed a parameter for the db which limited the max number of concurrent connections, so pg_dump couldn't connect to the db. I raised it from 30 to 150, and I'll keep an eye on it. I think the default was 100.

05.04.2024 - Return from the Grave...fruit

  • Prep: warm water
  • Razor: RazoRock Hawk V2
  • Blade: KAI Captain Pink
  • Brush: RazoRock 400 Noir SE 24 mm
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - Gravefruit II
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Gravefruit II AS; Pacific Shaving Co. Caffeinated ASB
  • Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts - Gravefruit II EdP

Well, finally some time and energy for a luxurious wetshave again! In the last few days, I was sick with the rota virus. If you thought the puking scene from The Exorcist was something, you haven't been in my bathroom on that damned Monday night! But I digress;

One pass WTG head shave plus cleanups and a bit of beard contours. GF 2 is a great scent for the warmer season IMHO and it's great to come back with a quality SW soap. I only yesterday felt good enough to knock down the longer stubble on my head with a trimmer, but nothing beats wetshaving for the slick bald look.

These KAI blades are still no good for my skin. I should finally seek out the Protouch MG again, expensive as they are but the shaves were so much smoother.

Oh shit, sorry to hear that! Good that you're back in your feet!

No worries, it was unfortunately spreading like a wildfire at my new workplace and I came in contact with infected residents very often. No wonder that it got to me someday 😅 but thanks for the friendly words 👍🏻
