I'm detrained and can't seem to get off my arse. It's probably a bit of depression? Would appreciate some help.

A place for runners.
Same thing happened to me, and I'm still a shit-show (my current cap is about a 3k). The running won't happen if you don't make it happen; don't let your brain win, it's working against you. Get out there and show it who's boss.
Yes somebody put this on a Post-it note and stick it to my mirror, and my face.
Sometimes the act of just putting on my shoes (without giving it much more thought) would get me over that hump. And like others said, baby steps. Start with just around the block or down the street/road and back.
If only I could get those shoes on 😅
I've heard this before, but I've definitely had those days where I just know I'm not feeling it. I try not to let my brain win, and I attempt to be disciplined, but I've been out the door actively beginning a jog around the neighborhood and I just stop before I get to the end of my street. Or it'll be Hella hot so I'll opt for a treadmill and I'll jump off after 2 minutes.
I have no idea what to do on days like that. I just try to make sure I don't use it as an excuse to completely fuck up my routine by skipping additional days.
Me too! I'll get enough motivation to force myself to do one workout, swearing I'm back to my routine, but 2 days later when I'm supposed to go again I'm like "I don't wanna!". I've lost muscle and gained fat in the last few months.
What's going on, I love exercising!
First thing I would suggest is to be kind to yourself and forgive yourself, and then... baby steps. Not only do baby steps eventually compound but they prevent any over training from holding yourself to old expectations.
I guess that's how I did it the first time around, but damn if I don't feel stuck to the sofa.
Tomorrow morning I'm gonna run the Paris Marathon. But I have sciatic pain again.... I already ran a semi with that it was manageable but on a Marathon? I don't know.

On holiday up in the mountains, so went for a 5km with the doggo off lead. First time we've done it and he was great, just ran about 10m in front of me the whole time. Dirt road, hilly, little section of trail.. Was good. Hills a lot stepper than I'm used to though, so pretty sore today.
That sounds amazing! Everything outside is dusted in yellow pollen, so I've been treadmilling it with my cat supervising. How big is your dog? Does he normally run with you on leash?
This is him. He's a golden retriever sized groodle x coolie. I live in the city, so he's usually running next to me on one of those waist leashes. Can't trust him not to race off after a cat/electric scooter etc.

Just did a local 8km race yesterday. tried to break 35min but ended up coming in at 35min 46 seconds. I blame the hills on the route.. I'll get it next year.
I’ve been trying to train zone 2/3 and it’s so hard to stay slow.
I also have a high HR when running, so I do HR training in the off-season on a stationary bike. It's much easier to control your HR and keep it low.
I am over 50 and getting back into running after a few years of not. My calves are so tight during after just a few minutes. When I stop, they are back to normal after an hour or so and not sore the next day.
I'm doing my best to avoid injury, and so I've been hesitant to run through it. Maybe I should?
On the plus side, I'm getting the need to run jitters when it's been than a day since the last run. So that's been nice to rediscover!
Calf stretches helped me a lot. Not just before a run but anytime throughout the day- put a daily reminder to stretch on your phone.
