Sounds like obstruction, let's charge these traitors too.
Seems pretty organized too. Let's open a RICO investigation.
honestly this sounds like a really fun time to be a young, hungry attorney lol
and remember that death threats just means you're getting to them
Not being a criminal scumbag would have avoided the trials.
I guess it's too late for that though.
It's scary how much most Republicans don't give a shit about anything, they have no shame or anything remotely close to decency.
They accuse Democrats of foul play, and scream and shout about ti, even when there is nothing there, and we have evidence Republicans do 10 times worse.
It's insane that the Trump campaign in 2016 shouted lock her up about Hillary for having used the wrong mail account in some cases. Yet they have no problems with Trump doing 100 times worse, stealing documents, and using secret communications channels to talk to Putin for christ sake.
Trump supporters are traitors to USA and democratic values.
The coup marches on.
This is how you can tell they know he's guilty as fuck. All their protestations to the contrary, their actions show their beliefs clear as day.
They want to shut down any investigation/prosecution of anyone they deem to be above the law? So much for The Law and Order Party. Might as well toss that in the giant pile of lying slogans alongside Party of Small Government and Party of Personal Responsibility.
They are the Party of Hate and Fear.
I'd also accept the Fascist Party as an answer.
“Law and Order” has always been coded language for “Using the power of state to enforce a social and economic hierarchy”.
I've read a lot of reasons they give not to have a trial: "It's a political witch-hunt", "the American people should decide, not the judicial system", "prosecuting your political enemies is something banana republics do", and plenty of others. Not one of them is willing to say "he's innocent", though. They're all saying "we shouldn't look".
Kinda tells you everything you need to know, doesn't it?
Can we charge them with obstruction of justice and be done with it? Seriously…
WHY IS THIS NOT HAPPENING?
It's not happening because this is a particularly tricky legal situation... separation of powers, immunity, and no actual damage has been done yet.
So we wait until they disrupt a trial and allow a guilty piece of shit to walk?
Just one, and there are several
This is the best summary I could come up with:
WASHINGTON — Four criminal indictments of Donald Trump have ignited his followers and spurred his House Republican allies to try to use the upcoming government funding deadline of Sept. 30 as leverage to undermine the prosecutions.
As a result, Republicans are looking at ways to insert provisions in government funding legislation that would hinder federal and state prosecutors who have secured indictments of Trump, based on unproven claims that he’s being politically targeted.
The GOP desire to use Congress’ “power of the purse” to defend Trump, who is running for president again, took hold over the last two months and escalated after the latest indictment in Atlanta in connection with the ex-president’s attempt to overturn his 2020 election defeat based on fabricated claims of fraud.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is publicly calling for party leaders to insert provisions into government funding legislation that changes how the Justice Department can use money.
“Given the weighty federal interests at stake, the Committee is conducting oversight of this matter to determine whether any legislative reforms are appropriate or necessary,” Jordan wrote in a letter to Willis, giving her a Sept. 7 deadline to respond.
Republicans, under political pressure from their pro-Trump voters, have sought to belittle all four indictments brought against the former president, which include detailed allegations of illegal activities presented to grand juries in multiple jurisdictions.
