The GP let me have a blood test 2 weeks ago and I hit 8.4g/L of haemoglobin (down from 31g/L) instead of the normal healthy 130g/L, despite eating an unholy amount of iron rich veggies and some horrid ferrous fumarate(iron) tablets. He said it needed to go lower for me to qualify for iron transfusion! WTF

I then badgered the hospital where I was diagnosed Celiac 3 months ago to give me a meeting with specialist. Yesterday I got that face to face meeting, saw a picture of my tortured small bowel from endoscopy (wow!) and he said we need to give you iron intravenous infusion asap and you will feel much better.

Today I got the infusion. Still feel like crap but it's nice to know there's actual iron in my body and it will do me good soon. 2nd dose next week. Even if it takes weeks I know I can feel good soon.

I also looked back on a lot of life events and moments where I was sick and it was Celiac but looked like something else. Dry mouth, depression, yellow and pale skin, weird nails, sore teeth, late puberty, not gaining weight.... ever. Ah well. Many different problems should get better soon.
