๐Ÿชฆ Killing Varen: Operation Inferno ๐Ÿชฆ

  • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm ร— 50mm
  • Razor: Henkotsu Kamisori
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Varen
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Varen
  • Fragrance: Sir Irisch Moos
  • Talc: Borotalco

Second kill ๐ŸŽ‰

There was just barely enough soap left, and the third pass leaned a bit thin, but Varen is done. I'm not on an orchestrated killing spree. The fact that my two first kills were back to back is coincidental.

You are on a killing spree!

So that's what an empty Stirling tub looks like ๐Ÿค”

Congratulations on the kill!

[-] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 4 points 7 months ago

Thanks! First time for me to see the bottom of one of these, too

[-] gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 7 months ago

Congrats! Killing a bowl of Tabac followed by a tub of Stirling. Somewhat prodigious feat.

[-] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 7 months ago

Thanks! I did some counting, and I was surprised to learn that I got only 68 shaves out of the tub of Varen. I guess I developed a heavy load ๐Ÿ˜…

Wednesday, April 17, 2024: Marduk Mittwoch

An excellent shave with Marduk, and depending on how much I use it, this might have been my last Marduk Mittwoch. Marduk on its own, when loaded heavily, provides excellent slickness and leaves a slight cool feel on the skin.

Have a good evening!

17.04.2024

  • Prep: warm water
  • Razor: RazoRock Hawk V2
  • Blade: KAI Captain Protouch MG
  • Brush: RazoRock Beehive 28 mm
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Tobacconist
  • Post Shave: Natura Siberica ASB gel

Wednesday head SOTN. Still trying to get into the habit of shaving/posting more, but today's shave was a good boost to that.

1 pass plus cleanups. It's so great to have those guarded KAIs back - they really turn the Hawk into an easy mode razor.

To get off cigarettes again, I lately acquired a few MTL focused vape setups with tight airflows and I use very dank tobacco focused liquids. I really never was the usual vaper who likes bubblegum or cookie flavours (each to their own, ofc). I like heavy, dark and spicy stuff. So today I've chosen my most matching soap: HoM Tobacconist. Tbh, I don't really like most scents of Mammoth (judging from scent descriptions alone so take it with a grain of salt). I mean, yes he has a terrific soap base that even my irritated left ear agrees with. But I'm not keen on Lavender, Citrus or smelling like Mango sticky rice. Again, each to their own... But Tobacconist?! That's what I love to smell like. It's not wet cold smoke. It's actually like one of those old fashioned tobacco stores with wooden furniture. The soap alone takes me on an olfactory journey and I'd love to have the matching EdP (not in the EU sadly, but one can dream). Plus it always treats my skin well. I kinda want to try Shire and Fu Dao in the future, but so far this and Indigo will be among my top scents of all time.

Today I went out and bought myself clothes and shoes - unfortunately for a funeral that I need to attend at the end of April. While it was a sad occasion, seeing myself in the dressing room mirror gave me a lot of confidence back. In the past, I'd have looked like a fat bald guy in a suit. Nowadays it's more "Agent 47 with a short beard" vibes. While I'm usually not a suit guy, I seem to rock formal wear now. Even in dark times, there's often a little ember of hope. Ok, enough rambling - have an awesome time everyone!

I've been meaning to ask you, because from what I gather you live in Germany... Is Speick pretty widely available there? I really like the cream and I imagine an oasis where it's available everywhere for a few Euros.

[-] DaveWave94@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 7 months ago

Yup, I live in good old Germany. Even here in East Germany (former GDR), Speick is widely available in drugstores and supermarkets. Of course the cream is the most available product here and it's actually quite cheap. Together with Palmolive creams, they are the only options for shaving cream that's readily available here. The aftershave is also available almost everywhere. Then they also have "Speick Active Men" soap with a grey label instead of blue. This one's more citrus forward so not my cup of tea, I actually like the original scent much better. Speick used to have a soap stick too, but unfortunately that was discontinued.

Yes, on their website and some german-speaking webshops. Unfortunately it disappeared from the shelves in all drugstores and supermarkets around here, no idea why ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
