I feel like this was a long overdue upgrade. I've been making printed rests to match my cases forever, but the hard print wasn't the most comfortable. (And I can't stand the look of those jellybean Amazon rests.)

So, I started fitting them with custom-cut foam pads. Big improvement!

Do the ridges (indents) in the foam make resting your hands on them annoying because it's a feature your skin is against, or is it essential for non-slippage?

Good question. Like everything with Dactyls, it's a matter of personal preference. The driving factor in this case was to allow the foam to flex around the curved shape of the rest. It does add some grip though, and I like it.

This is really nice. In the past I’ve literally just cut up 1” foam knee pads I had leftover from a whitewater canoe mod and duct taped them to the bottom of my dactyl. It actually felt fantastic. Recently I upgraded to a Charybdis with rests that are 3d printed using TPE. It’s pretty good, but I kinda miss the feel of some firm foam.
