Oh wow. The full time population of the town is just over 5000, but it’s full of summer homes and can get up to 250,000 in the summer.
Wild.
It is a huge tourist destination for New Jerseyans and Pennsylvanians (though Jerseyans don't typically stay there over night, in my experience). It's got the beach and the boardwalk, the latter of which is what most people go there for. Rides, carnival games, tourist shops, etc. Also a big drinking culture for the younger crowd.
That sounds like an incredibly annoying place to live, but fun to visit.
It's actually not so bad because it's quiet most of the year. Tourist season does suck, though.

Wildwood officials now say the 80K to 100K number was not the number on the beach at the rally but the total number of people "in our town," including restaurants, bars, and other places.
It's perfectly reasonable to estimate how many people are in that hemisphere as a ballpark attendance number for an event. Sure, they might not have all attended the rally but why else would they be in that part of the world?!
I really cannot force myself to care about rally numbers one way or the other. It's just the number of people lining up to suck a politician's dick, not the number of people what will vote for them.
How is this criminal allowed to do rallies by the judges right now?
Every Republican pundit in this country is already screaming about the trials being "election interference." Preventing him from holding these rallies could probably be considered actual interference, at least until he's (hopefully) convicted.
Why do they matter? He's very obviously a criminal that's not eligible to run for president, and he's been in contempt of court countless times in the past months.
Its following the law to prevent someone who is ineligible to run for office from running for office.
