To think, after all this time, all our lunches together... you still don't trust me. There's hope for you yet, doctor.
Him reading his novel A Stitch in Time is absolutely delightful.
100% agreed, to anyone considering it, do yourself a favor and get it. Especially love when he tries to imitate Quark's voice, but the book as a whole is great.
Oh man, OK. I'm gonna have to check it out now, that gives me a giggle to even think about.
Do you know if there are any other Star Trek novels I should read first to get the best experience?
I read it after watching DS9 and I don’t feel like I missed anything. The story picks up right after the events of the DS9 finale
@Infynis @roofuskit no, but its pretty much the start of the "DS9 Re-launch" which, as a whole, is pretty good for the first 20 books or so
The narrative only revolves around the events of Deep Space Nine so you shouldn't have to read anything else. It also involves a lot of flashbacks filling in gaps in Garak's story. Odo wishes he could read this novel.
His impressions of the other character's voices is one of the best parts.
I really enjoyed his arc. You knew he was dodgy from the first minute but his character was allowed to toy with his past and his skills and the like with little glimpses. Plus Andrew Robinson really chewed the scenery when he was allowed.
Personal favourite quote of Garak:
"The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination."
2023 and we're still calling things our spirit animals eh?
