how rich is that person to get an ultrasound for their cat

[-] CluckN@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago

It’s like $300 or the price of two Five Guys burgers.

But for an extra $50 they will throw in a small fry that will feed your entire family for the week.

Small frys in the US are like a bucket I've heard

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Not everywhere, but they are at Five Guys. They take a cup, fill it with fries, then put it in a paper bag (the size that most places give you to hold an entire order for two people. Then they fill the bag with fries.

I dunno why they fill the cup first...

At least here in eastern Europe, it's pretty standard kit at almost any veterinary clinic. Normally costs pennies (just labour cost of the vet).

[-] Darorad@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

In the US it's like $3-500

Ultrasounds for cats and dogs are fairly standard in the UK. I don't think they are strictly required, but they will do them if they are unsure about a pregnancy or if they suspect complications. Not really a big deal and they are covered by insurance if they are deemed necessary (though not usually for pregnancy).

Just checked on my vets website and a pregnancy ultrasound is £90 for cats, dogs and rabbits.

Does pet insurance cover this?

So adorable. I know my Mama cat kinda hates her kittens but also would gpadly make more and try again.

[-] ElCanut@jlai.lu 9 points 1 year ago

Well the "making" part is usually not the one you regret 🤷

[-] germanatlas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 year ago
