Okay, and how does snapd being open source help with that? It literally has no effect on it.

And when your best argument is "if it gets enshittified you can switch off of it", why help it get popular in the first place?

Little or big endian?

It's obviously a world where men can't talk English, only women and dogs can. This good boy is acting as a wingman for his bud. What's there not to get?

If those material differences cause a layer of piss to stick to the plastic which isn't easily cleanable and dissolves into food over time, they're gonna care about them.

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Plastic isn't necessarily perfect, it can e.g. be affected by substances like acids. I'd be incredibly surprised if there wasn't a material difference between a "virgin" piss bottle and a 10-year one.

Good point! That's definitely treated as not acceptable, at least beyond criticisms of the first season.

I think that both Korra and Netflix's Avatar deserve a lot of criticism (Netflix more so than Korra), but it's definitely overblown in many parts. Korra has a lot of good sides, those rarely get mentioned alongside the bad ones.

As a kid, I couldn't believe how funny Wild Wild West is

You just reminded me of an interaction between some teen and a German frozen pizza manufacturer

Teen: "Your chocolate pizza tastes like son-of-a-whore"

Manufacturer: "Got too hungry and bit your own finger?"

It's a piece of plastic in a special shape that was used as a piss bottle in an old folks home.

Yeah, those priceless pieces of glass in front of the art won't be available for generations to come. Now people will have to look at the pieces of art behind those priceless pieces of glass. Those bastards!

Please use spoiler tags for comic spoilers (anything that hasn't been shown in the latest episodes of the show)!

Hey all! I'd like to try starting a directed discussion, since participation in the episode discussions hasn't really happened yet (but it's slowly picking up on the sub, woohoo!). Depending on how things go I'll post more in the coming weeks :)

What was the moment or thing that happened which made you go "This isn't like other superhero media"? I think we can all agree that Invincible feels very refreshing and has many interesting ideas. Is there something you really like? Or something that defines Invincible?

What are your thoughts on this episode? I know the comics, so the beginning didn't throw me off - but I watched this episode on a bunch of reaction channels, and I love how confused they were at first!
