XnView MP 1.7.1 (github.com)
submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by 0x4E4F@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/linuxwarez@lemmy.dbzer0.com

A repack of XnView MP for Void Linux. Unfortunately, only x64 (AMD64, x86_64), since XnSoft only releases x64 deb packages for Linux.

The package also contains the keygen that is needed to register the software. The keygen is a Windows binary (.exe), so you'll also need to have Wine installed in order to run it. It's located in /opt/XnView/Keygen. If you would rather not use Wine or not have it installed, there is also a generated serial number shared in the same directory in Serial.txt. The problem is, you can't choose the name under which the software will be registered, but if that doesn't bother you, yeah, just use the pregenerated serial number.

Any progress on this, or is the 14 year old github repo I've been seeing the best thing?

I don't think many dual booters actually pay for Windows licenses.

It's basically runas, but then it pops up the UAC prompt and you have to give admin credentials ๐Ÿ˜’... runas is much easier, you give the creds in a command line, no windows poping up, nothing, it just works.

No it's not. You try wating for an hour with your dick in your hand edging while waiting to see some serious... ahem... debates over global warming.

When your kid tells you he's VERY HUNGRY and you do this wonderful meal, and he takes 2 bites and says he's full ๐Ÿคฌ. At that moment, those 2ms after he says that, you really hate that little fucker's guts.

It's mind boggling just thinking that things like this depend on the effort of one or two guys... while on the other hand, it's not so uncommon that a team of engineers and developers fails to deliver a working (mostly) bugfree product.

I think management is who is responsible for the shitty decisions, as always... and, in general, just holding the team back.

To be honest, yes. In general, not just tech or Linux related stuff. You look at humanity and what it has come down to, and then you notice these people... and hope fills your heart again.
