Been thinking about how quantum physics are connected to chaos theory and the properties of closed dynamic systems.

Will spare you that. Part of it is the human mind doesn't have the processing of all configurations, all the possible states of an entire systems, simultaneously.

Humans do have abstract thought, critical thinking. We can observe, record data, notice patterns, trends. By chaos theory, humans discovered they could write math equations to describe the behavior of complex systems. With quantum physics, humans trying to figure out how localized realities in a system related to the behavior of system as a whole.

We use scientific method because we can't comprehend the infinite. Math equations are shorthand, a trick we use to make up for our shortcomings. Science and math is awesome.

I kept trying to design my dream hermit cabin in sweethome 3d. Was getting nowhere. Started playing Sims 4, found designing homes using sims build mode is so much easier.

OK, that was super nerdy. I'm a nerd geek, so I will definitely check that out

I'm answering from the point of view of the alcoholic person you're trying to help, change. I was that person.

Went on for years. People kept telling me risks, I should stop, it was affecting relationships, health, work, etc.

I'd say: I don't have a drinking problem. I'm able to hold jobs. I drink to help cope with certain things. Everybody uses something to cope, alcohol is mine.

For years. Where things changed, late 30s.:

Getting sicker. Medical 420 became a thing. Finally found med that helped with insomnia. Introduced to dbt, cbt. A good psychiatrist.

It's good you care, are trying to help. You might be able to. But... the person has to be ready, willing to recognize they have a problem.

Oh, also, alcoholics anonymous never worked for me. There are secular options. Harm reduction, moderation management worked best for my situation.

There are many kinds of intelligence. Social, emotional, etc. I'm betting you're really good at some things I'm horrible at.

Meds affect people differently. I tend to have paradoxical reactions to meds. Have learned to trust my instincts. I mention cuz it's good you're asking questions, educating yourself. Just keep in mind, figuring out what works for you may not match up with other people's experiences.

KFC in Brooklyn. Empty restaurant, staff noisy, raucous in back. Ordered chicken, looked kinda pink, tasted weird, but ignored instincts, kept eating, cuz hungry.

Next week I spent in apt puking guts up, sweats, feverish, feeling like death, huddled in a ball, head pressed against wall.

Heck yes. Lot of creative people with fascinating stories.

Thank you. Knew I'd seen it a sci-fi show, couldn't remember which one.

Now if you can tell me which sci-fi tv show or movie had someone on a spaceship whose job was to listen for, interpret cosmic noise, and he'd do so by immersing his head into a band of sound at his workstation ... been bugging me for weeks.

One good thing. Was recently homeless for several years, lost everything, off meds, suicidal, etc. Since then, been grateful for the programs, help meant for people like me. When you 5150 into psych ward, homeless, I got connected with case manager, helped me get on ssi, Medicare, free psych care, free meds. Most all the shelters in my area work in concert with mental health agencies. They're aware that untreated mental health issues can result in addiction, abuse, and it's a long slow road, you have to put the work in. But generally they know providing temp income, meds, and safe housing is 1st step to help their clients get back on feet. It's a flawed system, not enough money or resources. But the people who've been helping me really are amazing at navigating complex system. Maybe things changed, or I just got lucky with where I live.

That's my fantasy. Have drawn up plans. Would love to live on plot of wooded land with artists, techies, eccentrics. Privacy respected, no one forced to do anything. But community bulletin board, hey I need this, can offer this in exchange.

There's a website where, if you already have land, can order tiny home kit for 10 to 20k.

Or, can order pre-assembled tiny home, hitch it to truck, more freedom of movement.

My fantasy. Plot of land, nature. Garden, grow some of my own food. Solar power, sustainable. Local community I can visit to trade food, services. I scour the woods looking for materials, bring them to my self built cabin, and make cat furniture out of found wood. Creative cat furniture, wall habitats, can sell for $700 or more

Namaste. Anyone I've met who uses that word has always turned out to be a preachy, holier than thou, self involved tool.
