In my experience, which is limited, it's not as hard in practice. Especially if you're just involved in the relationship and not trying to actively coordinate it, you just kinda do whatever as time allows.
There's a a conspiracy theory involving a relatively popular celebrity from the early 2000s and some guy in Brazil takes full credit for the entire conspiracy theory and says he made it up just to prove how easy it would be to do. He's even credited in the wikipedia article for it.
I've seen proof that he's wrong, I've had bookmarks that would show he wasn't the originator of the theory, but all the forums and sources that would be able to prove him wrong are defunct and offline. The timeline doesn't even make sense for it to have originated when he said he came up with it, but I can't prove it. He was like 6 years late. Every once in awhile, I still go searching to see if I can find something old enough to prove it.
We actually have similar in the US too, usually concrete poles here though. There is a kinda hefty premium on them and you've kinda got to have disposable income though. You're getting a lot less house for the privilege of it not washing away in a flood.
There was a study indicating it was a common flirting tactic for some neurodiverse people and it kinda went viral.
I don't think there is any joke or subtext.
I think that's just kinda it.
I think what's happening now is the revolution for the most part, this might be what those citizens would be pushing for. It's hard to find objective data on 'popularity of the taliban in afghanistan', but you can find a thousand articles on how unpopular every other possible idea has been there. The Taliban are seen as the only option for stability and security for some in the region. There are still protests against the taliban going on, but the numbers are kinda scary when you compare it to the size of the Taliban forces...
Have to remember that priorities as to what constitutes a successful society can be radically different in other countries and sometimes it feels very unhinged and short sighted.
Look at the forest puppy!
I do get tired of every piece of every thing we produce in any fashion being something to monetize somehow for ad revenue.
Wow, kinda same, I had the full image for a minute, but it cropped when I tried to zoom in and now even if I zoom back out its still cropped.
They're still super common in the enterprise space. If you leave your house, you've probably interacted with an android tablet based payment kiosk super recently. Several restaurants near me have devices they use for digital signage at every table that are really just android tablets. There's this great sushi place near me that has like 4 different types for signage/payment/ordering and they don't even put them in weird cases to hide that it's a tablet. Most restaurants using door dash/GrubHub/ubereats will likely have an android tablet for it, maybe even a separate one for each. Lots of other uses in spaces where a basic computing device is needed but the expense of an iPad or standard computer doesn't make sense.
There are some that I'd be sad about.
I'd really like to see American Mcgee somehow get the entirety of the Alice license back under his control. That man has been trying to finish his vision in some fashion for almost 2 decades now. I think he may have finally given up, but dude has had it rough and it's obviously his lifes work. I'd also love to see someone take the Sims back to its roots and I don't think anyone is going to get the money required to do it right without getting the name.
