Also I think a lot are just scared of it moving. I've also had dogs scared of walking on like grates, or stairs with open backs. Maybe it's a depth perception thing. Maybe they just can't comprehend it? I've had a couple pretty dumb dogs though. Still 25/10 puppers.

Where it gets hard is when you're looking at a 6-membered ring with stereochemical centres and trying to visualize it in a 3D chair or boat. Then rotating that 3D shape around in your head keeping the correct stereochemistry.

You're right. I was thinking more about the individuals responsible capture and refining of fossil fuels.
