Zoologist Hummingbird is a flower forward scent with hints of fruit throughout. Initial spray is total flower power with lily of the valley and lilac that drifts into a creamy floral with honeycomb, honeysuckle and mimosa. The honey heartnotes are very strong, but are countered by a powerful floral punch. The drydown starts out a little soapy and fades into warm cream/milky notes along with sandalwood.

Zoologist concept and packaging is really cool – and there are a lot of scents to choose from. They have nice sampling packages and you can also create your own set of 5 travel sprays.

This is a floral and woody fragrance...with a watery vibe. How could that be? Well, Un Jardin sur la Lagune eau de toilette really reminds me of a hiking spot I went to many years ago that had a mix of woods, fields of flowers and a fresh water spring. It has magnolia and lily, and is a fresh yet warm scent that makes me think of the great outdoors. Like a sunny day hike to a secret spring. Ahhhhh! 1.7 oz retails for $115, but discounters often carry this much for much less. I got this at Nordstrom Rack for about $59.

Mont Blanc Signature for women is a great everyday scent. It has a hint of mandarin/clementine on the top notes, and eases into a toasty vanilla with hints of coconut. It dries down to a to a warm, ambery white musk. Retails for about $125 for a 3 oz. bottle in department stores, but can be found in discounters for about $59 or so. A really nice go-to for a warm and friendly vibe, not over powering at all. This is a nice staple/foundation item for a collection. Try it, and let lemm.ee know what you think!

This is one of my favorites – I wear it a lot. It’s a fruity floral, and much more fruity than floral. It has a combination of peach and blood orange with a little dose of patchouli to round it out a bit. It is definitely a sweetie – but not cloying/putrid, and projects pretty well for a few hours. Honestly, I can smell that peach all day long, and it just makes me happy. Sometimes, the Cosmetics Company Store at outlet malls (I went to a local Tanger Outlets) has this for about half the retail price - worth checking out if you have an outlet location near you.

Amouage - Love Mimosa is an all-out floral. No hints of citrus or fruitiness…straight floral. At first spritz, it reminds me of an Easter bouquet teeming with white and yellow flowers. It really maintains that same vibe throughout the day, and softens to a warm white musky floral; and I can smell the ylang ylang, which is quite pleasant.

Today, I went for a power fragrance. It’s not for everybody, but there are days that it really works for me. I had a major meeting today, and needed to channel some serious power.

Note di Colonia III eau de cologne by Acqua di Parma has an undercurrent of myrhh from the initial spray, which gives the bright green opening a bit of a licorice twist. The heart is a warm, almost burnt citrus (like orange peels in a fire) with a slight hint of rose playing in the background.

While the initial spritz projects, the heart and drydown are more subdued in terms of projection; however, they are there for the long haul with a more moderated projection. Over time, it wanes off to tonka bean and myrhh. The fragrance character sticks with you, but if you like to project, you may need a refresh mid-day.

It’s a bit on the masculine side, but I love to wear it. It’s not something I normally wear in the summer, but I have been wearing a lot of ‘freshies’ lately and wanted a powerful kick of warm earthiness myrhh brings to help boost my mood for that meeting today (which was a success, so that’s pretty cool).

Have a great night, my fragrance friends!

A light, fresh green floral with a nutty pistachio note. Opens up with a fresh, clean citrus note (mandarin, lemon, bergamot) and softens to a floral heart (rose, freesia, jasmine) with a warm nutty essence (pistachio, almond, tonka bean) tapering into a patchouli/white musk.

It’s truly a light one (edt), so I like to take a mid-day spritz to indulge in the scent cloud all day long.

And yes, I can literally bathe in this stuff. When I realized it was being discontinued, I raided my local Duty Free store. Enjoy it if you’ve got it!

Oh, one of my great loves. I've been wearing Allure since her launch in 1996. Allure starts off with fresh mandarin and opens into a warm, sensuous floral (they refer to May Rose...but, whatever). She calms into an ambery vanilla that charms the soul. When I wear this, I feel very much like a boss. Ultra feminine and super powerful.

I just love the smell of violets! I often layer these two fragrances together for a long lasting cloud of violet goodness. I use the Bulgari as a body spray/foundation layer and hit my pulse points with the Guerlain to create my own scent aura. Eau the bleu is a cooler, slightly metallic violet, whereas Insolence is stronger on violet and a bit warm and powdery. This is one of my favorite scent combos.

Luna is a light and refreshing fragrance that opens up with a zesty little pop of citrus…bergamot, but smells a little lemony. That softens into a mildly rosy heart/spring floral which eventually drifts away to a light jasmine/skin musk.

Not terribly long lasting, so I will generally do a mid-day refresher spritz on this one. Overall, a great pick for another hot summer day.
