Many plants have anti-nutrients, compounds that inhibit absorption of nutrients. Both coffee and tea inhibit absorption of some minerals, such as iron.

That thing is about 70 meters long and weights 300 tons and some.

Absolutely bonkers, they were testing that thing so close to population. There are residential areas within about 1km/mile from the test site. In one of the videos, it sounds like the blast wave destroyed some window. So, even if that thing would have only exploded during the test, it would have caused harm in those areas. Luckily, it landed on an empty area.

Olkiluoto 3:n vuosihuolto päättyy päivitetyn aikataulun mukaan 28.4.

Syynä kahdeksan päivän lisäaikaan ovat vuosihuollon aikana löytyneet uudet viat ja tarkastuslaitteiden tekniset ongelmat.

Saa nähdä saako ne tuon käyntiin OL2:n huoltoon mennessä. Tämän hetkisen tiedon mukaan OL2:n huolto alkaa samana päivänä kuin OL3:n huollon pitäisi loppua.

Olkiluoto 3 -laitosyksikkö (OL3) irrotetaan sähköntuotannosta lauantaina 2. maaliskuuta huoltoseisokkia varten. Sen arvioidaan kestävän noin 37 vuorokautta.

Yhteensä erilaisia töitä on OL3:n huoltoon suunniteltu noin 1 900 pitäen sisällään noin 6 500 työvaihetta. Vertailun vuoksi esimerkiksi OL2:n vuosihuolto pitää sisällään noin 550 työtä, joissa on yhteensä 1200 työvaihetta.

OL3:n osalta vuosihuollon merkittävimmät työt ovat polttoaineen vaihdon lisäksi suojausjärjestelmän ennakkohuoltotyöt, automaatiojärjestelmiin tehtävät ohjelmistopäivitykset, suojarakennuksen eristysventtiilien tiiveyskokeet sekä paineistimen varoventtiilien huollot.

Olkiluoto 2:n (OL2) polttoaineenvaihtoseisokki alkaa 28. huhtikuuta ja kestää noin 11 vuorokautta. Viimeisenä laitosyksiköistä vuorossa on Olkiluoto 1 (OL1), jonka huoltoseisokki alkaa 12. toukokuuta ja kestää noin 16 vuorokautta. Kaikkien vuosihuoltojen pitäisi olla valmiita 28. toukokuuta.

Some quotes from the article:

For Control 2 and codename Condor, all publishing, distribution, marketing, and other rights licensed to 505 Games revert to Remedy with immediate effect. 505 Games will continue as the publisher of Control through a transition period ending December 31, 2024

The maximum purchase price for the transaction is approximately EUR 17 million

This transaction will enable us to negotiate better deals for current and future Control games. We can now weigh up the options between self-publishing and a new publishing partner for Condor and Control 2. At the same time, we are in a better negotiating position than before as Control is an established brand and Alan Wake 2 has been successful.

Control [...] has sold over 4 million units

Condor and Control 2 have both progressed well in recent months and we expect these projects to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024.

*Condor is the codename for a co-op multiplayer Control game.

Beat me to it. But I'd like to add that white tea is usually brewed at 90C, which is about 194F.

There are two common styles of brewing tea, western and eastern. Western style uses less tea leaves for an amount of water and the brewing time is longer. Eastern style, commonly known as gongfu style (can also be written kungfu), is more leaves per amount of water and shorter brews. Gongfu style also lets you brew the same leaves several times, while western style spends the leaves in one brewing.

If you want to gongfu brew it, I recommend about 5g of leaves for 100g of water. White tea doesn't go bitter that easily, so you can just brew it until it's good for your taste buds. You can start from 10-30s for the first brew and then add 5 second for every successive brews. Adjust as you see fit.

To break the leaves from the cake, use some long thin metal object. Screwdriver if that's all you have. Avoid cutting it, unless that's the only way to break it.

Google Translate gave this result:

I once heard this story about a company, that had a server room. The room was locked so no-one could get in without permission, which is a good practice. At some point, they started to wonder why one of their servers becomes unreachable every Friday at X o'clock. Eventually, they figured out that their new cleaner entered the server room every Friday and unplugged one of the power cables to plug the vacuum cleaner in to the outlet.

For some reason, when a GBA game crashes, the GBA will output the content of the game cartridge as audio over the headphone jack. This person noticed it and created a script that can re-create the ROM file (content of the cartridge) from the audio that the GBA outputs.

I think it's simply a question of what are Google's interests. Users doesn't pay anything to Google for the service, so that's not where Google's interests are. Advertisers pay Google, so that's where Google's interests are. Google has no interests to make the search better for users, they want to make it better for advertisers.

Just buy bananas that are of the ripeness you like and put them in the fridge. They'll easily last a week or two and tastes better too (my opinion). Don't worry if the shell turns brown, the insides are still good. Place them in some kind of container (plastic bag will do) when you store them in fridge and they'll probably last a month if not more (I wouldn't know, I always eat them sooner).

When storing in fridge, the low temperature slows down ripening but oxygen causes the shell to turn brown. When the shell is brown enough it will start to ruin the insides. The plastic bag, or other airtight or near airtight container, reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to the bananas. When there's less oxygen to turn the shell brown the bananas will last who knows how long. In room temperature the shell and the insides will ripen about at the same rate, and usually pretty fast.

The amount of "fuck spez" pleases me, but I find the lack of "join lemmy" disturbing.

We need to write “join lemmy” on the canvas.
