Because both these species literally domesticated themselves.

Dogs are Wolves that chose to live with humans, and cats are... Cats.

Orcas are significantly more intelligent than either cats or dogs.

I do not understand this design decision. Why does it have to be in sleep focus to track sleep?!

My cheap Huawei fitness hand could auto track sleep irrespective of whether my phone was in sleep focus mode.

Thank you. Finally.

My mum had cancer. The number of such bullshit videos i got sent, offering no real hope, was painful. It's heartbreaking to toy with people in that situation.

GN dude literally just stated facts, with the evidence.

And that too after an lmg video called them out by name. The original video literally had the guy saying that lmg was better than others like GN or hardware unboxed.

They didn't have to do it. Especially when there are multiple points of data pointing to their glaring inaccuracies.

He doesn't. He's just being a computer technician for as long as he has worked.

He kinda responded to it in a forum post. One paragraph about "improving processes and communication".

The rest was him doubling down on everything.

He literally said that they auctioned the billet block and didn't sell it. Like.. what?! Are we playing semantics here?

And he again emphasised that they didn't want to "waste" the money to test the billet block properly, and he actually said that he didn't want anyone to buy the billet block. In these exact words.

That whole video, and the follow-up, were incredible. I used to trust LTT quite a bit, but after the video, I've just chunks of respect for LTT. Dunno if i can ever trust them.

Edit:

I work in the tech industry. I work for an A tier company that makes servers, storage and more. I cannot imagine fucking up a benchmark/performance characterisation chart THIS badly even for an internal presentation.

I have spent hours double checking and re-running tests to ensure I'm getting the right numbers.

And to see a channel as big as LTT goofing up numbers so badly, which have the potential to affect thousands of purchasing decisions, i can't even.

We also work with vendors, who sometimes send hardware prototypes. And we can never be THIS unprofessional to them.

Just looked up a noisy aircraft flying overhead, and it turned up with a rather apt tail number.

Memmy has that feature too. You can check under settings >> content >> hide read posts. There's options to mark read on scroll.

Content that should've been easily purchased, but it's stuck behind a subscription model. Photoshop. Lightroom. I don't understand why these have subscriptions. I should be able to buy it like any other software.

A pretty detailed discussion on the topic:

https://www.wellbeingintlstudiesrepository.org/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1772&context=animsent

All living beings are capable of responding to external stimuli, both active and reactive. They are capable of basic friend/foe recognition. They are capable of adapting. These are just basic aspects of literally being alive. Even an amoeba can do these things to some extent or the other.

But does that put a turnip at the same level as a dog? It doesn't in my books.

I'm not any high horse. The field is in it's very nascent stages. But the evidence so far isn't supporting the notion. We don't live in Pandora.

This post is clearly trying to ruffle some feathers.

Very obvious bait post.

Plants are not sentient. Animals are.

All living organisms show basic reaction to external stimuli. Plants follow that. That does not indicate sentience.

Animals have significantly more intelligence than that. They form bonds, form relationships, mourn, and so on.

No living being except probably photosynthesis driven plankton can live entirely without consuming anything alive.

I used it for some time before, since it was just people asking questions and doubts and curiosities.

But once this paid stupidity started, it was adios time.

Basically Quora.

Quora started to pay people to ask questions, rather than reward the people who put efforts into answering.

I skipped that stupid thing instantly.
