Seriously, fuck all these "subscription" ideas.

Why in the ever-loving fuck would I want to pay a subscription for a goddam computer mouse? Some techbro fuckwit is probably chest-bumping his own reflection in the mirror for coming up with this dumb idea.

Here's a novel idea to help you keep revenue going the right direction: try innovating something truly useful and new, rather than selling the same, regurgitated Hotel California bullshit to hapless users.

TIL that the US doesn't have apprenticeships. We have them over here in Australia, for the usual trades. But we also regulate a lot of those things - we're not allowed to handle our own electrical work if we're not trade qualified.

How does it work in the US, if a kid wants to become, say, a plumber?

Here in Australia, it's drop bears and hoop snakes. People always want to see them... until it's too late.

It's a bullshit headline. The real benefit is quicker access to new, native features in the OS. So, for that reason, I'm happy they're making the move. But making it about how a utility product looks just seems... unimportant to me.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I might take a look - the learning curve on FreeCAD is pretty steep. Not that I wouldn't expect any other CAD to be much easier, but I feel there's a lot of assumed knowledge about concepts that appear to be unique to FreeCAD. Kinda increases the study load, if you catch my drift.

Censorship is wrong. Every rational, adult human being should have the fundamental right to their autonomy, without third party intervention, with full awareness of the laws that apply to them.

If they decide to abuse that freedom and awareness by accessing illegal content (even CSAM), then they are taking the risk of being discovered, prosecuted, and punished accordingly. And, in many cases (like CSAM), I hope they are caught and punished.

Regardless of the outcome, it still starts with the freedom for that individual to make that decision for themselves.
