I presume your irony meter exploded because you asked it to measure something that isn't in fact ironic at all?
While technically true, there were plenty of affiliated fascist organisations around the world who openly paraded their nazi sympathies in public. Oswald Mosely and his British Union of Fascists spring to mind.
What happens when it's not windy or sunny? Burning gas. Sure it's expensive and will be late but nuclear is not in stead of more renewables, it's in addition to. They also pledged to double the amount of offshore wind (which already makes up around 20% of UK energy) in the same announcement.

While yes it is a legally binding contract, the penalties must be laid out in that same contract and will usually be limited to any direct losses as a result of an employee quitting without notice which are, by definition, limited.
If the reverse happens, the employee would be entitled to their pay for the remainder of the notice period.
