German politics and energy consumption aside, I think they have the best base of knowledge for what your proposed economic model has in store for them and their allies. They had that model forced upon them, and fought for change and economic freedom. There was a freaking wall dividing their country over that.

And thanks! Definitely was going for a high mythology feel for the creation. And history always seems to be quite accidental in our world, so why not superimpose our fantasy conceits upon it?
Ok, I get this, but let's take a closer look:
Have you ever seen such a high resolution Pikachu meme? Such a shame it's been wasted on more political rhetoric that no one asked for. More pixels in the damn quotes text, how wild!
Some ideas:
- Postmates/Doordash/Uber Eats: a divination-based courier service - "The crystal ball said I'm supposed to look for you. Got something I'm supposed to deliver. Let's see here..."
- Software engineer: wizard creating thousands of castings of magic mouth to create a machine as a lab assistant - "One of the mouths keeps repeating 'syntax error' every time i active the first. Well there goes the last month's worth of castings..."
- Tech support: warlocks in the employ of a kingdom that gains it power from eldritch beings - "Have you tried turning the ether blood connection off and back on again?"
Sad to say, the dragon fights are the same the whole time. Not too much thought went into the combat AI in Skyrim, sort of a side thought compared to everything else they cobbled together.
Easily one of my favorite games, but could have been a lot more (especially considering everything that's come out since then)
All of this is to say, there are many a good mod that changes these types of issues, so YMMV in the realm of replay value.
