Back in my day we had to run uphills both way, naked, in the snow!

Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris has dissolved the country's caretaker government, according to reports from state news agency SUNA.

The news came late on Sunday, just one day after Idris took the oath of office as the country’s first prime minister since a military coup four years ago.

When the Heritage Foundation, a prominent right-wing think tank in the United States, released a playbook last year for how to destroy the Palestine solidarity movement, it did not garner much attention.

But more than eight months later, the policy document – known as Project Esther – now faces heightened scrutiny from activists and media outlets, in part because President Donald Trump appears to be following its blueprint.

President Donald Trump’s attempts to force Beijing back to the negotiating table by piling “extreme pressure” on the Chinese economy through a barrage of export controls are doomed to fail, analysts said.

Washington has unveiled new curbs on the sale of jet engine and chip design technologies to China in recent days, as Trump insisted in a social media post that he would no longer be “Mr Nice Guy” on trade.

Total energy in the EU, what Eurostat calls gross available energy, fell by 4.1 % in 2023, the equivalent of about 380 million barrels of oil, marking a record low.

Long-running efficiency policies have reduced waste across all sectors, while milder winters have decreased heating demand. The spike in fossil fuel prices caused by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has prompted additional conservation efforts.

Put simply, Europe is managing to do more with less.

Greenpeace activists removed a wax statue of French President Emmanuel Macron from the Grevin Museum in Paris on Monday and put it in front of the Russian embassy to protest against French business ties with Russia and lack of stronger climate action.

In its statement announcing the removal of the statue, Greenpeace said Macron "does not deserve to be exhibited in this world-renowned cultural institution until he has terminated French contracts with Russia and driven an ambitious and sustainable ecological transition across Europe."

Top secret intelligence files uncovered by the BBC confirm for the first time that missing American journalist Austin Tice was imprisoned by the regime of the now-deposed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Former Syrian officials have also confirmed Mr Tice's detention to the BBC.

The US government has previously stated that it believed he had been held by the Syrian government, but the Assad regime continuously denied this, and nothing was known about the details of his detention.

Iran carried out secret nuclear activities with material not declared to the U.N. nuclear watchdog at three locations that have long been under investigation, the watchdog said in a wide-ranging, confidential report to member states seen by Reuters.

The findings in the "comprehensive" International Atomic Energy Agency report requested by the agency's 35-nation Board of Governors in November pave the way for a push by the United States, Britain, France and Germany for the board to declare Iran in violation of its non-proliferation obligations.

Just a thought, how about we remember that you're talking about sacrificing Ukrainian lives. Fight for Ukraine to win, and quick.

The union said it objected to the original agreement because those at the table negotiating were not authorised to do so for its members and "legally couldn't sign that kind of agreement".

So who was the airline in talks with if not the actual union?

From what I understand Russia went from young to old when finding people, Ukraine has gone from old to young.
