So you think a person that would turn off UAC wouldn't just put NOPASSWD in the sudoers? I doubt that. And even if they had to enter their pwd... Wouldn't that just be annoying for the casual user instead of increasing security? I doubt they would be like "Oh I have to enter my pwd now, that really makes me think twice about whatever I was going to do with sudo."

Honestly I don't think it's that bad. I have to use sudo just as often on linux as I have to accept the elevation box on win. Win11 has some serious issues but UAC is harmless.

It's not like I want to defend windows, but If it needs admin permission you usually can't start it without confirmation.

Isn't that exactly the point of the meme? Internet 20 years ago was about sharing mostly. Internet today is about monetization mostly. And content quality isn't what makes you big, it's your ability to game/abuse the system

I think I've read this week they claim that subscriptions increased by 6 million worldwide. You'd think that is enough increase in revenue for a while, but no, let's increase prices now. Weird timing imo, unless they're testing how far they can go

Pretty much every sports game does not involve violence and people still rage like there's no tomorrow. I'm pretty sure people will throw slurs at you over a game of yahtzee or something, as long as it's online and there's a ladder/ranks

Jedesmal, wenn von einem neuen "Rekord Ergebnis" der AfD berichtet wird, frage ich mich: Wählen die Menschen AfD, weil sie zu dumm sind, sie als Nazis zu erkennen, oder weil sie selbst im Grunde Nazis sind. Ersteres wäre ja vielleicht noch lösbar, aber wie würden wir damit umgehen, wenn 20% der wahlberechtigten Bevölkerung aus Faschisten besteht? Kann da überhaupt noch eine friedliche Lösung gefunden werden?

Ich frag mich auch immer wieder, wie es legal sein kann, Lügen zu verbreiten.

Willkommen bei einer neuen Folge von "FDP blockiert Vorschlag der Grünen". Die Serie ist leider schon seit geraumer Zeit langweilig geworden. Es gibt keine Überraschungen, die Akteure machen immer exakt das, was man von ihnen erwartet. Leider läuft die Serie nicht bei Netflix, denn dann hätten wir vielleicht das Glück gehabt, dass sie nach einer Staffel abgesetzt wird.

Reddit ist ja aktuell noch dabei, die Scherben der letzten Kontroverse aufzusammeln und vertuscht alle "Schandtaten" bestmöglich. Die 08/15 User sind einfach happy, dass die Proteste so langsam sterben und sie wieder wie gewohnt konsumieren können und wahrscheinlich sind einige einfach wieder zurück gewechselt. Ich schätze, dass Reddits "nächster Zug" (z.B. old.reddit abschalten oder mobile user die app aufzwingen) aber nicht lange auf sich warten lässt, man strebt ja nen zügigen Börsengang an. Der wird unweigerlich wieder eine gewisse Menge Reddit Flüchtlinge ins fediverse treiben.

Ich seh das irgendwie problematisch. Eine schnelle Google Suche ergibt: nur 2% in Deutschland sind Veganer und 10% Vegetarier. Also ca. 19 Personen gegen 141 Fleischesser. Schwer zu glauben, dass bei so einer Aufteilung am Status Quo auch nur ansatzweise gerüttelt wird.

You skipped the part where Netflix actually encouraged account sharing for a long time. Now they frame the account sharers as thieves. Also the other part where quality of content goes down while subscription prices go up while still not providing plans with hq streams for single people. Which all was tolerable for a few bucks a month. Without sharing netflix is simply not worth the money
