Vegan here. I approve of this message.

I’ve been aware of her since she was the background singer for World Party. And that ages me, I know.

Also her first album was The Lion and the Cobra, NOT the one with Nothing Compares 2 U, as the media keeps reporting. And that first album is pretty much an under-appreciated masterpiece.

She was so mistreated by the media and the world, man.

Such a fucking shame :(

RIP

Good to know.

So, if I go into my comments, I can see them, but they don’t seem to link back to the original conversations/threads in which I made the comment.

Is this a bug or am I just kind of… dumb?

I assume it’s the latter but I could still use help.

Thanks!

I used to love this shit back when I ate meat. Surprised they still make it.

Not that I’m sure this qualifies as ‘meat’…. Or even food, for that matter.

Uh, hey guys… Last day of Apollo I deleted my comment history and my account.

Quite enjoy Lemmy; don’t miss the other place at all.

This is not at all what Veganism is.

Veganism is LITERALLY an ethical stance regarding exploiting/harming/killing non-human animals.

Finding a random blog online that states otherwise means nothing. Anyone who ate a salad last Tuesday these days thinks they can simply decide what Veganism is.

THIS is the actual definition of Veganism, directly from the people who coined the term:

“Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."

This is definitely my favourite Lemmy app.

Congrats to the developers!

Really appreciate all the hard work.

Unpopular opinion I’m sure, but RDR2 actually looks worse in 60fps.

It was literally designed to look cinematic -like a film- hence the lower frame rate and things like film grain being added, etc. It specifically notes in the settings that this was the artistic intent of the developers.

Not saying people couldn’t play it in 60fps if they felt like it, but every high-frame-rate mod I’ve seen of the game, it actually looks LESS realistic. And that was sort of the intention - realism.

I always find it strange that the most immediate and effective change any individual can make is giving up or greatly reducing their animal product intake. Will it fix the world? No. But would it actually at least somewhat of a difference? Yes. Is it something you can do right now, today, without any real effort whatsoever? Yep.

But what is pretty much no one willing to do? Give up/reduce animal products in their lives.

It was the easiest change I ever made. 31 years ago. No meat. No dairy. No eggs.

Oh, and no car.

Guess that's too hard for people and they'd rather die in a war over water.

People don't make any sense.

Apparently, they treat their staff the same way...
