Hey all. Currently have my small lab in my office. It ain't much but it already makes my office hea tup to like 80-81 degrees when I am also gaming on my PC, which is uncomfortable for sure.

I am in Florida, and I have some space in my garage. I don't wanna just put it in there, so I am considering getting a 5x5 grow tent, or maybe 9x5, and put a dual tube 12000 btu ac in there.

My lab hovers at about only 320 watts, at least for now. But my gaming PC is also there as well. I kinda wanna run it all in this rack, and use USB/HDMI over fiber back to my office (like Linus). I figure if I go the 5x9 tent, I can have space to sit in the tent when I need the console for something and ssh for some reason isn't working. Peak wattage currently is like 900w with the possibility of growing

So, using a dual tube ac, intake from garage, exhaust to outdoors, maybe through attic soffits.

Would this work, or am I missing something?

Hmm maybe so. My gaming PC is currently a 5950x. Maybe I lll repurpose that and get a better pure gaming cpu.

The problem with that though is only limited to 128GB RAM. My r720 has that, and since I'm using heavy zfs on everything I kinda will need more eventually

Hey all. So I am currently running a r720 (8x3.5 variant), rpi4, and my router is on a antsle fanless box. All 10GB except the rpi of course.

I recently moved into a new house and space is limited and hd to put my rack in my office. Well, my office now gets up to 82 degrees and I can't stand it. The main culprit for heat is the r720.

So for this reason I am considering going to a 3-4 mini cluster.

But, I still want ample 3.5" storage. How are you guys who are running minis, also doing storage? Jbod enclosures?
