For context, in Australia the conservative coalition (for some reason) has an idealogical bee in its bonnet about investing more heavily in renewable energy sources, instead arguing that nuclear energy production is the way of the future.

Your earlier comment was not "what if someone wants to role-play a cripple?" If it was meant to mean that, I don't understand the relevance of healing hurting their self esteem. Whose self-esteem? The player's, or the character's?

The response made sense by querying why would a character want to be crippled, not why a player would find it interesting to do so.

Depends. What are you trying to achieve? The US has constitutional protection for freedom of speech, but it doesn't seem to prevent police aggressively breaking up protests they don't like.

There are other things I think are more of a priority. For example, I would rather have strong media laws that prevent the mega-rich from using the media as de facto cheerleaders for their political interests.

The wording of the proposed constitutional amendment is only about 4 paragraphs long, and has already been set by Parliament.

The best I've been able to come up with is saying some people believe in god, some people don't. Some people believe in ghosts, some people don't. Everyone believes in different things, we can let them believe that without believing it ourselves.

The 25% casual loading is calculated to take in notice of termination and redundancy pay too. Lots of people resign and fewer are made redundant, so wouldn't get notice or redundancy pay anyway. That means in most circumstances, employees are better off in a pure money sense as casuals.

The big downside is if things are quiet at work you aren't guaranteed any hours. As you mention, that also creates a hurdle when applying for loans.
