Hey @TheAnonymouseJoker@lemmy.ml, One more thing. I'm planning to install lineageos first before using your guide, is that alright?

PS: You should host your guide in github or similar for easy access and to make it readable.

I'm kind of new to android. F-droid is kind of hard to navigate. some apps doesn't load their thumbnails and some doesn't even have them at all. It's hard to decide which ones are good other than how recent It's updated.

What I need atm:

  • Music player
  • Writing / Note taking
  • Diary app
  • VPN?
  • Maps
  • Messenger app
  • Social media / Fediverse frontends (if it exists)
  • Peertube client (to upload and manage videos)
  • Reminders / To do list app

You can recommend me any android apps that might be useful.

Other than the fact that I hate being watched because it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't see any other reason to be scared of mass surveillance. until I realize there was a more considerable reason.

The point of mass surveillance, is mass control.

On top of their surveillance technologies, they created a centralized system to feed on people. Before that they were using television, and then now, social media.

The reason is heavily tied to politics. The reason this exists is simple, they do it for money, status, and power. not that they care how you behave or think.

On another note, these "services" that you're using. made by Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk. what do they have in common? Destroy the environment, Exploit workers and take away people's freedom and give only a little donation for the environment in comparison to the damages they made. No justifiable reason can be made here. Not only you're being spied on, you're contributing to evil things by giving them your money and time.

We can't fight for something good without getting affected by these systems. and if not all, most of us is inside that system at this very moment.

For your own well-being and the importance of humanity and the environment. get out as fast as possible.

I don't have a youtube account. I'll have this discussion here instead in their comment section.

Basically all I heard was Greta Thunberg bad because she said billionaires are destroying the environment aren't doing anything-- which is true. and then continues to talk about something completely unrelated; Population control and Eco technology? what does that has to do with what greta said? economical growth isn't going to fix anything because of the fact that the one who wins in the capitalist system is whoever makes the most money. companies will get the most money out of cutting costs with exploiting workers and also the environment, then selling propaganda. as simple as that; capitalism promotes this kind of behavior and never will be eco-friendly. eco-capitalism only works if everyone has their importance for humanity and not for money.

I think that change starts with people. but how am I going to take back control of what I do if I'm not aware of what is harmful for the environment. or even a reach from that, how to start doing things differently and make a change.

I think most of us including myself are misguided by media and politicians. we can't trust people that exploit the environment to guide us. we have to take matters into our own hands to do that.

Surf the internet like a chad with rss.

--

News Flash, Gnome Podcasts, LibreWolf + Privacy Redirect firefox extension.

News Flash

Gnome Podcasts

I think this is a pretty good setup for anti internet addiction without missing out on stuff you like. Avoid wasting time jumping into social media rabbit holes by using alternative frontends for the web browser. the setup is just two RSS applications and Librewolf.

Apps; News Flash, Gnome Podcasts. Librewolf + Privacy Redirect firefox extension. GTK theme; Material-Black-Mango

A few days ago I started using RSS again. I decided to use something other than liferea to suit the look and feel of my desktop environment. ended up using rss for everything; including Youtube, the podcasts I listen to, Twitter (using Nitter RSS), Peertube and Lemmy. Funnily enough I haven't used it for blog articles.

I'm really excited by this. I sold my nintendo switch a while ago and I miss handheld gaming while going on trips. and also the fact that alot of games will probably be ported to linux because of this. what do you all think?
