The selling point for me right now with Plasma is how well rounded it is. It's also currently the only desktop env offering HDR support, which means it's basically a must for me.

It's fine to feel that way. It's also fine to have that discussion with folks who may not know what the current state of is. But the bottom line is people don't enjoy being told what they're familiar with isn't good or useful, because to them, it is. If it fulfills their day to day needs and wants, there's very little argument to be had.

Microsoft's business practices are scummy, and Apple's closed ecosystem leads them to punish their customers. But not everyone uses their computer for more than what they absolutely require. Many do not have home computers, and may only interact with them for work. I'm a geek, nerd, whatever. I like to tinker, I like to customize, and I like that I have the freedom to do so. But most people just want something they're familiar with, something that works as they expect it to. They don't want to learn to use something at home that isn't the same as work or school. And honestly I think that's fair. There's more going on in their lives, and these days almost everything they need to do is on the internet anyways.

He's got the charisma of a dead skunk, but I somehow doubt he won't still involve himself with Pollievre somewhere in there

Schools in the US have tests on Saturdays? We don't really have an equivalent to SATs here in Canada, but I figured it was just a summary exam or something you took like anything else.

Dolphin is such a well fleshed out emulation monster that I'm consistently disappointed with other emulators that don't let me tweak things quite to the same degree. I can't tell if it's just the nature of Nintendo's console architecture from that era, or if there simply isn't the same degree of effort/priority put into exposing those kinds of features in other emulators.

Excellent. I have no real qualms with the existing deb package, but this greatly simplifies using it on anything else.

Wat. This has nothing to do with Windows 11 system requirements.

What are you, an apostle? Lol. This issue affects Windows, but it's not a Windows issue. It's wholly on CrowdStrike for a malformed driver update. This could happen to Linux just as easily given how CS operates. I like Linux too, but this isn't the battle.

Also worth noting is their history as an IP mill. Dead By Daylight is a surprise hit amongst many a licensed deal to produce games that would nearly qualify as shovelware in most cases over the last 20+ years. DbD gives them some independence, but they're still largely a "studio for hire" by anyone who needs them.

I firmly believe this Quest exclusivity junk is stifling VR in a way that sets it back quite a lot. There's a lot of interesting ideas, but the closed ecosystem that Meta/Facebook has crafted is detrimental overall. It limits the peripherals, the fidelity, and it doesn't even have the kind of competition something like the old console wars did. It's just dumb.

Dark Void...man what a cool game that just doesn't turn into literally anything halfway through. There's probably some kind of licensing issue that's leading to the delisting. I'm not even sure this isn't the first time its happened.

If your only intention is to use the card for encoding, I recommend picking up an A380 instead. The A770 is a surprisingly performant gaming card for newer titles, but all of the available ARC cards have the same encoder.

Since the A380 is typically single slot, and fits within the 75W spec, you don't even need an extra power cable for it if you wanted it as a secondary card too.
