Travel, nothing tech related
Fwiw, my blog's statistics say Linux is around 10% and I know a lot of browsers identify themselves as running on Windows when they're not, so I wonder how it's measured.
Wow, I had no idea Acrobat Reader still exists. They charge €15,72 per month now apparently.
Having worked in a call centers, I feel like it's the dumbest, most self centered boomers with "customer is king" attitude that just want to shout at someone rather than fix their issues (that can usually be fixed with a Google search). It's like they need people to suffer. Just let them hang up when people are disrespectful instead of this shit.
Well, they're not wrong. If I had known I'd be in the same place after 10 years, I would've made myself more comfortable.
At least it takes away one reason for undercover German police to annoy foreigners with their "random" drug tests
I never see kids playing outside. There are parks, fields, forests around where I live.
Over time I learned there are actually kids living in my apartment building but I have no clue what they do all day. It's kind of depressing.
When it comes to chocolate, the US says it's OK to import products made from slave labor since the violations don't happen on US territory.
US doesn't grow chocolate but they do build (crappy) cars. How convenient
I used to rely on news feeds through Firefox until they suddenly removed this feature. I switched to an RSS reader but around the same time, a lot of websites started dropping their RSS feeds. I'm out of the loop of why this happened and it's probably one reason I feel so bored being online nowadays
When I read about people being frugal, there's always something like "I now go to restaurants only once a week", "I'm driving the same car for 5 years", "you don't really need 10 subscriptions for x". Do people really not cook their own food and spend money that much? My only subscriptions are internet and rent, and my savings would be gone if I'd get a car 🤷♂️
I was wondering who the hell still watches TV. My whole life is on my computer
I remember always switching to another channel when ads came up, but later that became impossible because they all started ads at the same time. So it seems to be on purpose to prevent people from switching channels. This was in the Netherlands, though I haven't listened to radio anymore since Napster came out.
