With no context, it kind of looks like Uncle Scrooge died.

A video rip of the first issue of Family Magazine's video companion series, which ran for a couple of years during the peak Bubble Economy days. A ton of interesting previews and trailers here, including a brief but cool look inside Squaresoft's dev offices in anticipation of Final Fantasy II. This September 1988 issue leads with Super Mario Bros. 3, which would launch in Japan the following month and was obviously kind of a big deal! This issue is almost entirely focused on Famicom/NES games, though PC Engine and Mega Drive make their presence known briefly.

A couple of blog suggestions:

Weird Fucking Games. Guess what that blog is about.

There's also Virtual Moose, who blogs about a bunch of stuff, but mostly retro and obscure indie games.

Finally, Indie Hell Zone. IDH isn't updated nearly as frequently as the first two, but there's still plenty of archives to go through.

Neat! I always meant to play the Touch Detective games on the DS but never got around to them.

If that's the cost of getting a Teemto Pagalies miniseries, then so be it!

They forced my company to come back to the office 4 days a week (I'm miserable, btw) but the company on the floor above us on the east side either moved, went out of business, or went full WFH, so I use their bathroom. Specifically the extra big handicap stall farthest away from the door. It's great, no one's ever up there. I would stay up there all day if I could.

My original plan was to be a smartass and rent a copy of Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (this was 2009, Blockbuster still existed) but we got very sidetracked with everything going on that day and I wasn't able to do it. Ah well!

I started on lemmy.fmhy.net, then jumped to lemm.ee when I heard about the domain issues. But I wasn't aware of just how big lemm.ee really was, and I like the idea of being on a smaller instance to help with decentralization. I looked around and saw leminal.space and I thought that was a pretty good pun. It was really as simple as that.
