socks dont weigh much, then again I dont subscribe to the ultralight stuff. I am paranoid so I bring 4. One to wear, one I just cleaned and is drying, one for a backup (if I am hiking in wet conditions and want to change mid day or if I get a hole in one pair or...), and one as a backup to the backup. Three is probably enough, but I always have that second backup.

Im a big guy too and I was never a fan of the ultralight obsession. just stumbled onto this community as some friends are talking about doing a section of the PCT next year. Gear review/recommendations are welcome.
Wash them?
If you are backpacking, you should have at LEAST 2 pairs of socks and you wash them at the end of the day. Use campsuds or the equivalent. I also had a ritual of washing my feet every morning with the cold stream water right before putting on the socks. It helped prevent blisters. This was back in the day when you had to have a pure wool sock and a polypro liner as a separate sock. now the smartwool is much easier to deal with.
Just serve the fruit seperate.
I do not like melons. Because they are cheap they put them in all the fruit salad and they contaminate all the good fruit they touch.
Even fruit salad that doesn't have melon in it (rare), the bananas get turned to mush and the oranges get beat to pulp.
There is no upside to tossing it all together unless you put it in wine for sangria.
it would be amazing if Stewart wore a bow-tie. I would love to watch that.
The answer has already been revealed. Its all about outsourcing to the lowest bidder. El Salvador, Uganda, Eswatini.
another fun fact, today is international talk like a pirate day!

The whole statement of, "for some reason, the most extreme views get pushed" was kind of interesting to me. The reason is engagement. We know that.
I have to say the whole gamer gate thing made me realize I'm too old for this shit and I have no idea what the hell is going on on the internet anymore. I still don't really understand what the fuck happened. Because every time it's brought up, it gets brought into this weird huge discussion like this video.
Its ok to feel angry. It doesn't even have to be justified. You don't have to take out your anger on people, you can just feel it. It is a part of the grieving process.
Honestly, how is this mocking? At absolutely worst its dismissive or disrespectful, but that is a bit much.
Brown the butter before adding back in the drained noodles and add cream cheese. Cut back the milk a bit.
If it was off brand it would be really cheap and you know your kids will eat it. Also its EASY. At the end of a long day getting shit on by everyone, sometimes making rice and beans just takes too long and us too much effort.
