I appreciate the question.

As someone else pointed out, dbt is quite helpful if someone never learned to cope and receives trauma/stumbles in life. This helped me a lot.

Additionally, it was my own curiosity and drivenness.

Watching and reading for countless hours and actively being aware of similarities to stereotypes helped me get a feel for situation.

Then learning about things I suspected I might be struggling with, then pointing therapists and psychiatrists in the direction until they either confirmed or denied it with evidence backing it up.

This led to a very tailored diagnosis and therapy which now helps me feel more in control than I‘ve ever been in my life (I never thought I lacked control until I found out how little I had).

Being allowed and accepted in my way of existing has changed practically everything. It even showed me that I‘m lucky to be alive since my condition, combined with mx childhood usually spells doom.

It’s still a ton to think about and a burden of sorts but it’s no comparison to the self doubt I had before without realizing.

TL;DR: I think the best therapy is enabled by a thorough diagnosis, fueled by an interested patient.

Disclaimer: Obviously I‘m talking about actual science allthough it can be frustrating. Fringe science and esoterics provide easy and comforting answers but it is not the way imo.

I hope this helps.

Cyberpunk oversold and underdelivered at launch. 3 months later it was insanely good, especially if you had a high end pc. It never sucked, the management of cdpr made a mistake, thats it.

We really need to make this a thing again. Not only for software but for anything. And we need legislature to enable us.

Don’t like how the banks treat people? Make your own. In the USA you need 12 million capital to even open such a thing. Since 2008, the banks have seemingly no competition from new banks (source https://www.upflip.com/blog/how-to-start-a-bank).

One could say that you‘re not allowed to take any of your hard earned money out of the company until you reach those 12 mil capitalization.

Yes, most likely but the picture it gives is completely accurate. You have to either submit to the totalitarian reddit rule or you will regret it (not literally but you will at least get negative karma, autobanning you from a lot of subs).

As a mod on reddit, I have a always tried to keep it levelheaded but I have gotten my posts removed on subs for simply correcting someone. So evidently not every mod is good at being civil.

I think the overall representation of this post is spot on. :)

I‘m a little shocked at the amount of gatekeeping in this community. That was less of a problem on reddit tbh.

We „the autistic community“ have decided that self diagnosis is valid and that is a fact. So lets just not discuss the idea of the boogeyman posing as an autistic person and just accept people.

Thanks and have a great day. :)

I think it’s a multitude of things:

  1. autistic people tend to gravitate to other autistic people since we share strong interests and other traits
  2. although there is a cutoff for diagnosis, autistic traits are everywhere and if someone has them, they might not be diagnosed but still have some traits
  3. autism is hereditary. So some people in your familiy will have it too
  4. a lot of people don’t get diagnosed for vaious reasons so they don’t necessarily identify as autistic but they might be.

I could name many more but those are the top reasons I could think of.

Summary: It’s awesome to see that people actually are like you in a way. You‘re in a brave new world. Try to enjoy.

Most people are not even able to accumulate any capital while paying bills. If you‘re not in the fortunate position of a collage education or similar, you‘re pretty fucked.

I‘m autistic and I usually take „touch grass“ at face value and feel like the person wants me to feel better. I know that’s most likely not the case but it’s how my brain works.

Edit: spelling

Honestly, this should have been outlawed long ago.

Could not have said it better. Thank you.

There are more or less serious counterinterpretations like „how to spot you‘re neurotypical“ which turns the thing on its head. Equally hilarious and dystopian.

Have a good one.

If people had a tiny bit of a brain, this would be stopped. We really need to stop that centralization stuff.

Coole Idee!
