The earliest cats probably appeared about 35 to 28.5 million years ago.
Pretty sure anime girls have been around for at least 50 million years.

Yeah I would imagine poor/lazy planning or they either thought their tools would be replaced by then and/or that computers were just a fad so there's no way they'd be used in the year 2000.
I think that poster is right in this context. It gets abbreviated and used as a defense of there just being "a few bad apples" and they they just drop/ignore the reset of the phrase.

This comment from another post of the same article has some good counter points on why this probably isn't as bad as it sounds.
While ridiculous, there's interesting context here.
Greenland has little to no economy
The ice is mined from ice that has already broken away from the glacier, thus not reducing any more than nature has already
Cargo ships bringing frozen food used to leave empty, now that same fuel is used to transport ice back instead of going to waste
The founder has always dreamed of a sustainable economy for Greenland
He is conflicted about how his work to do this in a sustainable way is being taken
The follow up comments are worth reading too.
Yeah I've never got that kind of bad vibe from him. I also left out the part where he even touched on how privileged his life is and how grateful he is for that or how he said him being harassed for being transphobic is nothing like what LGBTQ+ people have to go through.
It's really shitty as it'd be cool to have someone like him showing up randomly on Lemmy like other celebs kind of do on Reddit (Arnold Schwarzenegger only one coming to mind at the moment).
Maybe he will give it another shot someday but I guess I don't see there ever not being a huge group of people waiting to harass him.
I read most of it (skimming some paragraphs) and it sounds like he got dog piled with "go fuck yourself Westley" and other memes constantly and also mass reported while being told to apologize for being transphobic (which he claims he isn't and says he has apologized for whatever made people think that but the demands for apology never stop).
Admin told him his account is banned because he doesn't want to deal with the reports Wil also was saying it wasn't just people from that instance who harassed him and in some places like a painting section he was welcomed and had some good experiences.
Overall he said it was a bad experience and that maybe because of his reputation he will never be able to enjoy social media when people know who he is.
I probably missed some stuff or maybe misunderstood some of what he said and obviously this is his reasons paraphrased.
FWIW I know very little about him outside of the memes. No idea why people think he is transphobic or any other reason they may hate him.
You should look up the meanings of "takeaway" and "mental gymnastics".
The person is requesting more information, who knows what their takeaway is or if they have even come to any conclusions yet.
Some people just want power and recognition which you don't get if you just travel and enjoy life.
I could also so it being pretty exciting being at the forefront of a new technology and wanting to put all the things you've learned or been researching to use vs just quitting and feeling like you're wasting that time you've put in. Probably doesn't feel like a job if this is the case.
They/them is gender neutral. People literally use it to avoid offending people by accidentally misgendering.
It's not like they went out of their way to say he or "they" to try and trigger people. She's also not here stating her "wish".
With all the actual assholes out there it's ignorant as fuck to be so reactionary on someone else's behalf when the person you're attacking is likely on the same side as you.
I'm sure there'd be no reaction at all if you called them they. Feel free to watch I guess since I did it.
I think a lot of basic obscure facts like this are likely to be inaccurate from ChatGPT if its difficult to find it from a basic search engine.
Who knows what random source it is viewing as the "truth" and spitting back out to people.
Yeah, okay. So much less cruel to just trap and kill them all. Unless you've got a secret cat utopia where they can all go to.
The problem is there already. People adopting and keeping them indoors is not the problem.
A real solution would be better laws and enforcement involving cat breeders and people who let cats roam and reproduce freely. Or all the assholes around the time COVID lockdowns who figured they could just adopt temporarily and then abandon their pets.
I set up almost the exact same list this week. I like spiders though... Adding Blizzard now.
