Earth is already past the critical point tempurature.... No matter how much we clean up now (which we won't), the earth is already heading down the global warming path

Well, GOP controls all branches of gov and can rubber stamp any legislation if it means they hold power. Add in the SCOTUS ruling that says the Pres is immune to basically all criminal charges.

Will the ones shit down rain down radioactive dust everywhere?

This SCOTUS is the real issue. By the end of this term, Trump will have appointed 7 of 9 justices if Thomas and alito take the opportunity to retire.

[-] LordCrom@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

That's IF there's another election. I'm wagering with full GOP control that he might just abolish the electoral college and appoint his successor.

[-] LordCrom@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Exactly, why else would GOP work so hard to purge voter lists of people with foreign sounding names a week before the election.

1 person requested reviews of 100,000 voters via an automated tool the GOP made available

Honestly, I would consider anyone who sat out also a simpleton for not realizing the importance

Before, his power was checked by legislature....but now GOP has full control over the gov, and the supreme Court has 5 members nominated by Trump, soon to be 7.

Hand maidens tale seems possible. Destruction of the middle class through tariffs, union busting, tear down of heath coverage, teardown public schools, force colleges to abandon certain studies or no federal money....

Add in non stop fossil fuel promotion with drill baby drill attitudes, tear down NOAA and the nhc because strong hurricane news reinforces climate change.

I guarantee in 4 years Trump will try to name a successor instead of holding an election.

Many companies lobby to increase number of h1b visas because it's cheap labor that can't go job hunting. Basically indentured servitude with more steps. They want cheap labor vs Americans demanding better wages

You should have seen the non stop ads for the pro life movement....blatant lies and fear mongering. I don't understand how that level of misinformation is legal to put in an ad.

And this fucker is about to win... I can't believe this.... And my state denied women abortion rights.

I hope every woman that voted for this isnt raped and forced to carry that baby.

And Rick Scott, the leader of the largest Medicare fraud, is re elected again.

My state is filled with idiots who won't even vote for their own best interests

SSN numbers are good for 999,999,999 people alive or dead. At some point the US will hit that, right? Do we start reusing numbers? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

So I have not booted my windows partition for fear that it would break my boot.

Is there a way to circumvent this before the bug hits my system yet?

Did windows ever fix that?

I am this close to just deleting the entire partition and adding it to my Linux partition as a data and or log drive instead

Onn needs a Google account. Fire stick requires an Amazon account. Apple tv, obviously an Apple account. PS5, Xbox all the same.

Is there a box that will let me stream Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, my own stored media?

Osmc is great for home stuff, but can't do Hulu Netflix.

I could use a Linux PC, but not as simple as 1 remote for a cheaper box top.

Any suggestions? Or do I just get a Linux host

I went to college a long time ago. Since then the LHC verified the higgs boson. The higgs field and the higgs bubbles that separated quarks from antiquarks is something I've been looking at.

However I never took quantum mechanics and have little understanding of quantum fields. I would like to rectify that problem.

Can someone with knowledge give me a push in the right direction.... What books to start with, are there online lectures?

Thank you
