I'm 47 and without kids, I was always indifferent to them and decided if I got with somebody who wanted one then it would happen, Once my sisters had kids I lost any remaining interest in the idea, I don't think I would be a good dad as a result of my indifference. My Mrs is very much not interested in them either, Not a good environment for a kid to grow up in I feel. Sometimes people think it's ok to ask why not, For me that question isn't a problem but I can understand how it might be a massive problem for those who wanted them and for whatever reason didn't get any.

I am slightly surprised by a quarter though, Had you asked me before I would have said a few percent tops...

Best I can offer is a static variable in my next coding round.

I would also like to see this, Browsing ALL exposes me to new stuff but I have a few things I just don't want to see, Like Sports, US Politics and foreign language ones that I can't read, A button would be great :)

3/4 of the team I am on work from home, 2 of us full time, We have weekly scheduled meetings with no agenda other than to catch up and this is where ideas can come up, We haven't all been in an office together since before the lockdown yet we continue to thrive. I also have most of each Friday blocked out to work with one of the team on whatever he happens to be working on that day. We just jump in a meeting and do stuff. And like you we are all open to just spontaneous chats at any time either by text or call. It works perfectly well.

I guess you also have those chats where you pull other people in during the conversation, Oh, Suchandsuch will have input, send them an invite to this meeting etc :)

I love it, I get peace and quite when needed to code, and all the interaction I need to make the job work.

I actually stopped using google search all together last night, I was searching for something and the result where just abysmal and mostly irrelevant, I searched on DuckDuckGo and found much better results. I was using both, Google used to be so good and now it's just a mess.

Similar thing happened in the village I grew up in, Big pub/carpark bought by somebody, burns down, now has about 10 houses on the site. It was recent enough that you can see the progression on google earth using the timeline tool. Nobody did anything as it was just a pub in a small village with no special significance.

It's the reason I am keen to see some kind of justice on this one.

It's the main reason I use it... I thought that was the point :)

That sounds good, I hope we can get it in the UK.

My VW T3 project (i.imgur.com)

This was another bare shell restoration, I did this one during lockdown.

My T2 project (lemmy.world)

I stripped this to a bare shell and did a LOT of welding then painted it this fine Yellow, A colour I found very hard to paint.

The wings and bonnet are carbon fiber, So I left some exposed.

I have done a lot to this car over the last year, It started with me removing the rear subframe and fuel tank to do some welding. I am now going through every detail so it all works as it should.

I put all new suspension on Tein Flex with adjustable damping and ride height, The paint is Firenza red, As you can see my garage is not big so it's hard to paint cars in there.

There was a post about a lack of posts here so I will post my other two projects as well.

We are all busy working on our cars :)

I would quite like a project car sub, This one doesn't feel very focused. That's my thought anyway.

EDIT: I just added my 3 project cars, I have literally thousands of pictures of the work, I may try and compile a cross section post of the work I have done on each at some point if people might like that.

When I owned my workshop I once had to replace the engine in an old Ford Fiesta that had this happen.

From what I could tell they went from 4th to 1st.

The damage started when the middle two pistons broke and allowed the conrods to separate from them pulling out the wrist pins as they did. Then the free floating conrods hammered the pistons into the head destroying the valves, rockers and pushrods too. After that the rods had bent enough to allow them to fall out of the cylinder and punch a hole in the back of the block, then the sump then parts of the rods exited through the front of the block, One of them destroyed the radiator as it left.

That is my rundown of the series of events from what I could work out at the time.

After removing the rear subframe and fuel tank to weld up the jacking points/subframe mount points I have been working on making it look nice, This is a landrover metallic red. Still got the front end bolt-ons to spray like doors, wings, bonnet, bumper etc.

I posted here because I am looking for a project car community and wondered if anyone knows of one or will be starting one :) Thanks.
