If Discord was open source, I actually would not mind paying a fee for it. Fixed or reccurring, ideally the former. But that's never happening. And forget buying that Nitro thing.

He's delusional. Someone earlier said they think he'll go bankrupt in 3 years but IMO we're more likely to see this guy OD or die of heart failure. His kids are going to be thrilled when he dies, that's for sure.

I use a VPN 24/7 and I haven't had any issues with Lemmy for posting/commenting. I know reddit fully blocks my VPN with some IP addresses unless I use old.reddit, which is part of why I've just had it and left.

Are they weirded out that he didn't beat her like a conservative man would if his wife did that? And are they going to pretend there aren't countless women fed up with their manchildren conservative husbands?

Spoken like a privileged ass person who knows she's not going to jail and that the punishment will be monetary at worst. Can't stand people like this who act hard about jail like it's no big deal.

I'd venture to say a big chunk of those folks inherited wealth. Most millennial homeowners I know inherited money from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and/or parents.

And like many who inherited wealth, these folks often make up their own little rags to riches story about how they got where they're at.

Makes you wonder why journalists don't bring this up.

I feel like this is a very naive process that implies due process works, albeit slowly, even for cops who fuck up. It doesn't work because cops, DAs and judges all protect each other.

Also, most insurance companies will nail you for misrepresentation or fraud if your driver's license license address isn't updating accordingly with your current address, because different areas have different likelihoods for accidents.

I just don't get why people are so quick to defend cops or give them the benefit of the doubt over stuff like this.

All the rich folks I know avoid Tesla like the plague because they prefer some level of political ambiguity while driving. Even if they're driving a $500k Porsche, it doesn't come with the "this company is proudly run by a right wing asshole everyone has heard of" vibe, just the regular "I'm rich, SEE!" vibe.

Describing Reddit as altruistic is some next level delusion.

I download to my HDD and anything truly worth of keeping gets burned to a BD-R disc for long term cold storage. HDD is more likely to fail in 10+ years than a BD-R.

National Guard and Minneapolis Police Department officers terrorizing neighborhood residents.

To this day, neither the National Guard nor the Minneapolis Police Department have addressed the crimes committed in this video. Accountability works both ways.

In today's video we are exploring the idea that sustainability is "women's work" and that there might be an Eco Gender Gap. We cover man theories around masculinity, femininity and it's affiliation with the Earth, and much more.

Note: This isn't my video but I have a background in research science pertaining to a field relevant to this video and in my opinion this is one of the best videos I've seen on environmentalism. I believe this video should be shown in elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities.

There's a certain community there that I'd like to filter because a) I find the content/discussions to just be generally awful circlejerky nonsense and b) it's polluting the "All" section that I like to browse.
