i support numbering the art for referencing, but i'm also a big fan of artists choosing not to name their works because that'd leave the viewers with a greater freedom for interpretation. they'd have to be more abstract for this to make sense though.

Man telling people you love an art piece called “untitled” really paints a clear picture of what it is in their minds

If you want to paint a clear picture of what a painting is in other people's minds, you should show it to them instead of just mentioning the title. If I told people my favorite painting of all time was the 1903 piece "Goodbye" by Wassily Kandinsky, would that paint a clear picture of what it is in their minds?

I'm receiving reports to ban this on the grounds that it is digital and kinda breaks the one big rule of this community. On one hand it looks like an in-game screenshot (to me at least, I don't really know much about Minecraft) but on the other hand, I think the original Kristoffer Zetterstrand artwork is a traditional oil painting on canvas

you can see the top part is where the artist stopped using rulers in order to connect all the lines leading up to that point. finishing this must have been like successfully walking a tight rope

the disparity between posters and subscribers is larger than expected.

in the community i moderate, there are just 2 consistent posters (including myself) and about 3000 subs, of which a good 150 seem to be active in total. that's 0.05 of the aggregate subscribers.

I wish movie posters looked like this instead of a collection of the cast's portraits or attempts minimalistic design

there's something so ethereal and majestic about paintings that make humans subjects look like ants chilling around megastructures.
