If you're a creative, you've known every single person at those tables, the workers (you're probably one of those) as well as the chef. I think the comedy is that creatives get to watch them get what everyone thinks they deserve without it really happening.

I don't agree with that headline at all:

But many residents said the aid was insufficient.

"All the stores are closed or destroyed," said Raul Busto Ramirez, 76, an engineer who works at Acapulco's airport. He blamed looting on shortages and said ATM machines were out of action, leaving people with no cash.

So much running. I'm guessing that it's because anime is more like an American soap opera in Japan? That's a guess though. The netflix show was fantastic though, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to be crap.

They're always trying to get more users and make it more popular too, when that's not the point of the fediverse.

How much do the studio, producer, directer, and showrunners make? I think the writers are equal to the producer, directer and showrunners at least. Do they make more than I do? Probably. All of us should be sharing in more of the profits, not taking others down.

Here's the history of residuals and they started in the 60's through a strike. Cheers to it working again. https://www.sagaftra.org/membership-benefits/residuals/history-residuals

I'm most interested in the guy who bought almost an entire Hawaiian island, that shouldn't be possible unless you're a native Hawaiian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Ellison

We have a DVD store in Seattle that is loved by the city. I think it's employee owned too, not sure. https://www.scarecrow.com/index.html It's for obscure videos mainly.

I have had better than awesome interactions with the ancient coin and 3d printing communities. The 3d printing one set me up completely and I'm printing as I type. I started out as a total noob. The ancient coin took a couple of days to send me down the right the path. There are niche communities already here, I love lemmy.

There's another, but I'm not mentioning the name so they don't go after that one too.

I think the proper equivalent would be if a white actress wore blackface. As far as I know, being mermaid isn't a religion or any particular color. This is not good for them to do.

I don't look forward to it but I don't think it's bad either. I try to live in one day at a time. Future angst brings me to standstill.
