Is the LSI 9300 16i HBA which is currently on sale on Amazon for $150 a good option to connect up to 16 SATA drives (combination of HDD and SSD) to a consumer motherboard for ZFS in Proxmox? I just need more SATA ports than are available on the mobo (6) and read that SATA expansion cards are unreliable. Thanks!

I already have a docker VM and OPNSense running on Proxmox so this took me about 15 minutes to set up and start running live CDs on a test bench. Pretty cool for booting utilities and stuff too.
