Ok, just got done with an Onyx facility, while I felt overrun at Lazarus, Onyx was challenging solo, but it wasn't like the enemies we're respawning every minute. I didn't time it well, but it felt like a 5 minute respawn timer. It was doable, and the parallax rifle is definitely my new favorite mid-range weapon.

I would recommend at least taking a nursa with you if you can carry one.

This is the only code for this event.

Otherwise, you can earn a pirate spectrum badge by playing through Pirate swarm in Arena Commander.

There's also an art competition for designing a pirate flag, the top 3 submissions for each category (2 categories) will win a ship/vehicle.

There's a Treasure Hunt for pirate week right now.

The clues have all been revealed and the answers have been discovered.

I spent last night taking on a Lazarus center.

I could barely even make it to the shuttle because the enemies would respawn every minute or two.

Every time I ended up with a Tier 3 injury, I would go into a building to treat it, and when I came back outside, everyone had respawned again.

If I had gone in with a team we would have been fine. But, solo, it was a lot. I'm thinking I'll go back with a parallax or some other electron weapon that does a bit of area damage since the enemies are all so clustered together.

This trailer was awesome to watch... I definitely need to check out the Onyx facilities now.

A ~6 min video of CIG discussing the new RSI Apollo.

Looks like you can complete the missions, but you can no longer earn the permanent rewards from them.

It sounds like the missions are still available for now, but I'm not sure for how much longer.

Edit: But you won't earn any permanent rewards for completing them anymore.

Some big updates to MedGel in 4.3.1

In brief:

  • MedGel Canisters carry more MedGel (Respawn cost is effectively cheaper)
  • Healing injuries consumption changes
  • MedGel capacity for beds has increased
  • Respawn distance increased for T1 medbeds
  • Medical Canisters are now on LTP.

Tap for details from DecH-CIG

In upcoming PTU builds we will be making the following medical bed changes. Changes are in bold, with some dev comments provided to explain our thoughts and any additional context.

Amount of MedGel contained within a single canister increased from 100 to 200. The cost of a single canister remains at 100,000 aUEC.
Respawning still consumes 100 MedGel, however due to the canister change this is now the equivalent of 50,000 aUEC.

Our goal with the respawn cost was to price it more towards the experienced players and the feedback on this cost has been a mixed bag. To make it more accessible, whilst still providing a decent drain on aUEC over time, the decision was made to reduce the price.

Healing tiered injuries is now different MedGel costs, rather than a flat amount for any and all injuries.
Healing a T3 injury will consume 5 MedGel, the equivalent of 2,500 aUEC.
Healing a T2 injury will consume 10 MedGel, the equivalent of 5,000 aUEC.
Healing a T1 injury will consume 20 MedGel, the equivalent of 10,000 aUEC.

The aim of the flat healing cost was to try and keep it very simple where 1 canister = 1 respawn or 2 heals, being mindful that this would be easier to mentally keep track of how much MedGel is remaining if the ship was being operated by a team with members out in the field.
The injury costs were balanced towards a worse case scenario of having a T1 injury.

However the overwhelming feedback was this was too much and that the simplicity was not a concern, so we're happy to split them up and make them cheaper. Same as when it was a flat cost, if you have multiple injuries of the same tier, e.g. three T2 injuries then the cost is just 10 MedGel.

Tier 3 beds have had their capacity increased from 100 to 200.
Tier 2 beds have had their capacity increased from 200 to 400.
Tier 1 beds have had their capacity increased from 400 to 600.

We want the bed capacity to be divisible by the canister amount, which is the main driving force behind this change. However we also recognize that for T3 beds its a nice QoL update to be able to heal a few times and still have 1 respawn in reserve before having to top up again.

Respawn distance of T1 beds is increased from 150,000,000 meters to 750,000,000,000 meters, enough to cover most star systems.

The dev (..maybe me) who gave the numbers to team putting together the website design brief referenced the wrong cell in excel when doing an AU to meters conversion and this is now fixing it.

Medical canisters will be added to LTP.

A minor note on this, we know there are some of these canisters scattered around hospitals on live. Those will be removed when 4.3.1 goes live, any canisters collected now on 4.3 will not persist into 4.3.1

Thanks for all the feedback and ideas surrounding this topic, it's much appreciated!

Looks like the dropships are back, and working better than before.

We'll see how well it works once the servers are under stress again (Live environment). I'm a bit more hopeful this time around since it's not their first attempt.

Oh I'm definitely looking forward to that. Hopefully it happens soon.

And then I'm also hoping that we get firefighting missions once the fire tech is ready. In that case we could put out fires and patch up injured NPCs in a single mission.

But given the work they already have in front of them, that's a very hopeful wish.

I need to recharge.

CIG has released a new page that's basically a tutorial for Medical Gameplay. In the info is a section for Medgel which specifies the capacity of the different medical bed tiers:

Each tier of medical bed has a different MedGel capacity.

  • T3 MedBeds can hold 100 cSCU of MedGel.
  • T2 MedBeds can hold 200 cSCU of MedGel.
  • T1 MedBeds can hold 400 cSCU of MedGel.

As well as the respawn distance of the different medical beds:

MedBed Tier Regeneration Cost Regeneration Range
Tier 3 100 cSCU MedGel Within 50,000 meters of bed, enough to cover most gameplay areas.
Tier 2 100 cSCU MedGel Within 8,000,000 meters of bed, enough to cover most planetary bodies.
Tier 1 100 cSCU MedGel Within 150,000,000 meters of bed, enough to cover most star systems.

There's also a slideshow of different medical ships and the different tier medical bed configurations that they can have.

Yeah, I definitely agree with you on a lot of points, I just figured it was a good video to at least bring up the subject.

I do like the fans as well. I figure CIG could just wave their hands and say that the aurora spits out some quantum fuel exhaust through them providing thrust even on planets with a thin atmosphere.

And, no worries, you didn't come off as too critical/confrontational. All great points.

Yeah, Eve Online made it easy for individuals, corporations, and alliances to all assign reputation to other players, organizations, and alliances.

It was very easy to tell who you should avoid, and who you could trust (in Null Sec at least).

Kill reports are made publicly available for anyone to review, so you don't have to rely on screen recordings.

I'm hoping those systems come online soon. We were supposed to get them this year (before they made the focus on bug fixes and stability).

Until then, if you're using the official Medrunner portal, you should be able to trust anyone rescuing you.

Edit: grammar

We're also going to go ahead and extend the Race for Stanton Missions while we continue to work on freight elevators throughout alpha 4.3.

Well, it sounds like the freight elevators are a lot more reliable in 4.3 and at least they're extending the event because of the issues.

That sounds exactly like what happens when multiple players accept a mission at the same time, but only one (or a few) get the mission.

It's not normal to have it happen with every single mission that you accept. I wasn't having issues like this the other night.

Still going through it now, but I thought it was great when Jared actually coughed as written in the question here:

Some ships are currently pretty much silent (cough, Origin..) and some ships that used to have distinctive engine sounds are now also pretty much silent. Are these ships waiting for a pass, or is it a bug ?
