Wow, this Oreo camera monstrosity is kinda ugly.

I think the Galaxy Tab A8 may be a good option. While I've only flashed a custom ROM, there are root guides at XDA.

Weird, My Zenfone (NC, US) no longer has the "not supported" message. Is this region now supported? Also, I may turn it on, just in case.
