Israel made an agreement with the hospital to let an ambulance go and save her. And then blew up the ambulance when it got there. There's no other definition of that than pure evil.
The hypocrisy of the Heinrich Böll Foundation (and the German government in general) is incredible.
Here you have a Jewish person who is a journalist and a renowned political thinker who was being given the award for being someone who "reports on power games and totalitarian tendencies as well as civil disobedience and the love of freedom".
They 100% have the position, right, and accuracy to be comparing the state of Gaza currently to the WWII ghettos.
Edit: Something else to note. The Foundation made this statement ""But Masha Gessen's views should not be honored with a prize intended to commemorate the Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt".
And I can't help but laugh. Do they not know Arendt's past stance on Israel? She was literally one of the first world-renowned Jewish anti-Zionists.
She literally compared the Likud party to the Nazis!
Before someone tries to make the claim, no, the hospital staff couldn't have taken the babies with them. These were premature babies in oxygen-saturated powered incubators, which could not be moved.
Possibly if a fully set up ambulance was available for each baby, it could be done, but the IDF has been bombing ambulances too and there aren't that many available anyways.
This article is inaccurate or at least misleading in its title presentation. It's reporting on something that happened on October 20th, as the second paragraph notes, and was never actually enacted. In fact, Biden moved back from this and has been instead moving to restrict all weaponry sales to Israel in the past few days.
Biden has not been in any form of good light in my eyes in the past two months, but please don't spread fake or misleading information like this.
Scott added he would say to historians questioning the accuracy of his storytelling:
“Were you there? Oh you weren’t there. Then how do you know?”
Out of everything, it is this response that makes Scott look like an idiot. This is some MAGA-level history reconstruction argumentation.
And? If there's a hostage situation, the answer is not to blow up the entire building, hostages and all.
Technically, yes, per the STOCK Act. But there's a loophole for Congress.
It doesn't count as "insider trading" for them if the information they use is based on bills they are passing as a part of their job.
Democrats have repeatedly tried to pass a law to ban this loophole as well, such as Adam Schiff from January of this year, but Republicans always vote such bills down or have them die in committee.
And yet they constantly whine about being defederated and demand to know what they've done, because clearly they've never done anything wrong ever.
The answer to the question is simple, honestly. It's because they're shitty people.
This is an ongoing example of why conservatives are the enemy. They are actively trying to destroy any form of democratic and people controlled process.
This is not and has never been a "both sides are bad" situation. And anyone trying to argue as such is just as bad as the conservatives.
The block "feature" is a required tool for being listed on the Google and Apple stores, among others.
Removing it will get Twitter delisted from them as well.
Okay, corruption like that should be corrected. Regardless, there's no scientific evidence that aspartame is harmful. Let alone a biochemical reason for why a dipeptide of two amino acids, phenylalanine and aspartic acid, that dissociates in the stomach into its constituent components and some byproducts would be harmful in the first place.
Unless you have phenylketonuria, but you have much bigger problems in that case and, if that is the case for you, kudos on being at an age and capability to read and understand this post, you are incredible.
Edit: Also, just noticed the part about US Right To Know, which is a well known anti-science group that's been pushing pseudoscience and fearmongering about other topics, such as biotechnology, for years. So them being involved here raises questions.
