Dealing with climate change isn't a binary either/or thing, there's a huge range of potential outcomes we could fall into. Suffice to say that the more we do to reduce pollution now the better things will be in the future, even if we've missed our chance to completely avoid significant warming. We've only barely invested in renewable energy and it's still having a massive impact on emissions.
We need to make counter memes for this bullshit, everyone circlejerking each other over how hopeless the situation is doesn't help anyone.
I promise you we don't need fusion just to survive, we just need better policies. Please don't give up.
Well I definitely misremembered on the milk thing, looking it up the statistics seem pretty clear that dairy production is more demanding than the alternatives. I still think that regulation will have more of an effect than trying to change the minds of individuals though, I wouldn't dismiss the kind of impact it can have.
America is bad, but it's also good sometimes too. Often the people most oppressed and downtrodden do the most to contribute to that good, but it's all still part of the big complicated mess that is America.
Individuals making the choice to go vegan is never going to solve our environmental and animal rights issues. Not that it's worthless, but I think the focus should be on getting more stringent regulation of how animals are treated and pushing for alternatives like fake or lab grown meat. It should also be noted that vegetarianism is better for the environment overall, vegan milk alternatives are all highly demanding crops that need a lot of water and space.
It looks like a chocolate bar.
I like sandwiches and I'm not afraid to say it.
I'm gonna say probably not, if he were Valve would be full-on employee owned. I will say he seems a little less uh... warped than most prominent billionaires, but that's not exactly a high bar to clear. Overall he seems like an okay guy but I don't know him and have no way of telling whether he's secretly a dick or something.
Diverging points of view? Like what, that Ukraine should just surrender and let itself be conquered?
Oh so 'line go up' is suddenly a valid way of determining a country's quality of life now? Guess America must be a paradise then.
TFW you really want people to stop talking about the molotov-ribbentrop pact.
