While that may be true in many cases, it is important to remember that straight people are perfectly capable of being hateful, homophobic monsters. Placing all the blame of LGBT hate on LGBT people, openly or not, isn't nearly the whole story.

Observation is all we have. There's no indication that anything outside the solar system is different from the things inside of it. Some stars have a light spectrum very similar to our sun, which implies they are stars in similar places in their life. Others have a light spectrum that is very different.

We can use different parallax angles to determine that some stars are much further away than others. Parallax works the same at 10 miles as it does at 10 light years.

Is there some particular observation you don't understand?

This is probably related to NY recently changing their rules regarding civil suits for sexual assault. The same change that prompted the Trump case.

I'm sure for a 17 year old in 2003, going after someone so wealthy and powerful seemed insurmountable. But the rule change seems to be allowing some victims to finally get some form of resitution.

I have to believe an experienced holodeck user would be able to detect some of the telltale signs pretty easily. Like replicated food, if you see it enough you probably notice "holodeck vase #5" showing up scattered around the background of scenes as clutter. Or even minor visual distortions where it switches from 3d to the false horizon.

Food is full of water and takes a lot of energy to heat up. The plate is thin and made of easily heated material like ceramic or glass.

I would think manned missions would be slightly less prone to this type of issue. Having a person with a brain and hands next to the machinery means that minor issues that are impossible to solve from millions of miles away become trivial (ie. a connector comes loose: just put it back in, dust on the solar panel: wipe it off). It has its own set of dangers of course, but autonomous rover issues don't necessarily translate 1:1 with manned missions.

Eternity, forked from Infinity for Reddit, is in a really good place and open source. I highly recommend it.

Your water supplier should provide you regularly (depending on local regs) with the contents of your municipal water. If you want to obtain your own rain water and make it yourself from source you certainly can.

Punch Nazis is a good start.

And by that I mean be socially intolerant of intolerance. Personal morals and actions don't need to and shouldn't be held to the same standard as the US Federal government.

Floatplane is the video hosting service that they created and own. Instead of being ad supported it requires a monthly fee for each content creator on it (in the vein of only fans or patreon). So a loss of subs is a direct loss of monthly income for LTT.

Federation is on by default on all instances. As soon as you search and subscribe to remote communities they'll start federating. So far so good on my little one user instance.
