16 and already a serial rapist, now murderer. Wtf?

Off topic: why are there two useless paragraphs at the end of the article repeating what the previous paragraphs said, almost identically.

Oh wow. Now I need to look up a translation for what was said before that to maybe put it in context to at least see what they were attempting to convey.

It's crazy that there was a whole shitshow about taxation without representation (though the colonists certainly cost money starting shit with native peoples), yet over 200 years later, there are still people taxed without representation.

I'm not sure why you made two different comments, but ok.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, denial of reality. I'm not talking about propaganda, I'm talking about the science. I've been paying attention for the last 25 years, and we've unfortunately hit a point where massive suffering and death are inevitable due to inaction.

That's goofy as hell that the emergency number isn't localized. I think the idea that pressing a physical button 5 times quickly is faster than having to look at the phone and select options. Idk, though, I don't use it.

I'm not implying we shouldn't try. I'm advocating a realistic view of the situation. Too many have their heads in the sand.

Yeah, this battle is, unfortunately, lost. It is now too late to stop what is coming. Keep in mind that the effects we're witnessing are from emissions 10-20 years ago, and the global total continues to rise and will likely continue for the foreseeable future. If you haven't yet, don't procreate. If you have already, don't continue to.

I see. I think the wording threw me off a bit.

I've always expected anywhere targeting tourists to be expensive relative to the local economy. That is an absurd price for bottled water, though. My rule of thumb is to never take anything from the minibar. There's usually a shop within a block or two you get the same thing from at a much more reasonable rate.

Is that what was actually said or a poor translation?

I'm a bit confused with the section about "fees." Are there casinos in the world you get to stay at, eat, and have them watch your kids for free?

Isn't that kind of the point? I haven't read the books since I was a kid, but I feel like a major theme was a criticism of religious dogma and duplicity.
