Writing in this month's edition of Doctor Who Magazine, he said: "In the office, this show is generally shortened to TWB, which makes me think it stands for Torchwood: Birmingham. We’re in the third week of filming. Very exciting!

"The shoot will go on until just before Christmas, and it’s a mammoth task, all wrangled by one director, Dylan Holmes Williams.

It's worth noting that Gatwa's statement appears to contrast somewhat with those made recently by showrunner Russell T Davies.

He wrote in the most recent issue of Doctor Who Magazine: "The decision to commission Season 3 won’t be made until after Season 2 has transmitted. And that’s always been the deal since the start. Hey, we might even have a day off!

It should be a conspiracy of like-minded individuals that exists parasitically within Starfleet, not an official (or an unofficial official agency).

In fairness, Sloan said they were a branch of Starfleet Intelligence with an official designation in his very first appearance on DS9, and nothing that came after that really contradicted him (other than his obvious lies in "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges").

Whatever liberties have been taken since then, that wasn't one of them.

The strategy on the film side of things remains an incoherent mess, and I think we should all take this with a massive grain of salt as long as phrases like, "is in talks to," are being thrown around.

But sure, okay. At this point, I'll take any progress over no progress.

It looks like the Netflix release is likely to be a full season drop, so...how would we like to discuss it?

My gut says to set up individual episode threads and pin a season index to the top of the community, but I'm open to suggestions.

Spock flat-out said it at the end of "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2", albeit with a focus on the time travel shenanigans of the second season:

Regulation 157, Section 3 requires Starfleet officers to abstain from participating in historical events. Any residual trace or knowledge of Discovery’s data, or the time suit, offers a foothold for those who might not see how critical, how deeply critical, that directive is.

Therefore, to insure the Federation never finds itself facing the same danger, all officers remaining with knowledge of these events must be ordered never to speak of Discovery, its spore drive, or her crew again, under penalty of treason.

Of all the new series, Lower Decks has been perhaps the most consistent - seasons 1-3 premiered in August, while season four premiered in early September.

This pattern may or may not hold.

Caves really are the worst, though.

The word "easily" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

Ideally, other VFX houses across the industry will follow.

The very Short Treks will feature previously announced fan-favorite characters voiced by cast members from across the Star Trek universe, including icons Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker, Doug Jones as Saru and Armin Shimerman as Quark, and a new line-up of exciting voices, including Ethan Peck as Spock, Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher, Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura, Connor Trinneer as Trip Tucker, Bruce Horak as Hemmer, Noël Wells as Tendi and the legendary George Takei as Sulu.

There are a couple of nice surprises on that list.

Something like the Shawshank Redemption

In the original Stephen King novella, Morgan Freeman's character is a white Irish guy. I look forward to hearing all about your newfound hatred of this forced diversity.
