Both Ericsson and Nokia have been huge players in the cellular networking market for many years, and still are. Nothing new. The only thing new is that they are getting even more contracts in the west since governments started boycotting Chinese companies (for good reason).

If not even the most psychotic nazi-wannabes want to be your friend, you know it’s bad. Suck it up Orban, you loser.

Kind of worrying when their source is a “data breach information website” that does advertorials for “the most safe password manager” NordPass. 🤮 The internet of today has become a pile of absolute shit.

Based on https://privacytests.org

Desktop browsers in their current stable versions, sorted from better (left) to worse (right). These are:

Librewolf, Mullvad, Brave, Tor, Safari, Chromium/Ungoogled, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Chrome.

Note: Each test is counted with a value of one in this chart, however each test may not have an equal importance in regard to privacy. It still gives an image of which browsers value privacy and which do not.

The maximum (worst possible) score is 143.

Edit: Also FUCK BRAVE. But for other reasons than these points. Read the description before you vote or comment ffs...

How do I hide the voting buttons in the feed view? They take away a lot of screen space and I am not voting on anything I have not yet read. I didn’t find this in the settings. Thanks.

Yes, ”Wichser”, and it has the exact same meaning and use. If you haven’t noticed the article is in English so they translated it.

Wow. If this isn’t a perfect example of the possible problems with federated networks I don’t know what is.

I’m still for it of course. But it has to be done right and this is far from that.

Except each instance has its own URL meaning ranking for ANYTHING is extremely hard since each domain’s rank will always be weak in the sea of others. Each is even being penalised by the algorithm if there are duplicate content mirrored between different URLs. It’s the weakness of the fediverse if we are to follow how search engines have worked in the last decades. Maybe it will lead to new search engines (I hope so) but right now it is not going to work well to replace for example Reddit … or rank well in general at all.

rTorrent “UNIX only” and c-tier. That says all you need to know about this list.

It’s not just in your head.

I also degoogled some time back when it really occurred to me how much data they had on me. That’s not good for anyone but Google. And there are great alternatives for most things.

Also their inconsistency with their services (abandoning projects they initially promote heavily) just feels insecure and annoying.

I still use their search engine though, the alternatives aren’t there yet. But I use it less and less because it’s so riddled with affiliate sites. And I do use Youtube, it is the best streaming service despite its own set of problems.

I’m in Europe and it’s anecdotal but there are SO many acquaintances that are sick with corona right now. Also not particularly mild, some are in bed since 1+ week with bad symptoms. Fuck this virus and fuck the people who don’t care about the well-being of the person next to them.

I love Voyager but despite its beautiful swipe settings I REALLY miss swipe right anywhere (not just from the left edge) to go back, like Apollo allowed for. Are there any plans to implement this? The Memmy app has this if you swipe on the bottom toolbar but it would be better to able to use it anywhere on the screen.

I really, really miss it from Apollo, and for example the new Artifact app (News reader) does this so perfectly.
