This map really brings home how awful this projection is for this map's purpose and how awful most projections really are near the poles. Greenland isn't that big. I know this map is Plate Carree, not Mercator, but the size issue of an equirectangular projection is really similar when comparing longitude and size for the entire globe from pole to equator. 15 degrees of longitude for a timezone stops making sense that close to the poles. Greenland would mostly fit in the central time zone of the United States for example. Given its sparse population, dividing it up into 3 timezones seems unnecessary.

Another lesson I the importance of significant digits, a concept I've had to remind many a young (and sometimes an old) engineer about. An interesting idea along similar lines is that 2 + 2 can equal 5 for significantly large values of 2.

Mustard is an amazing spice to use (along with others) when roasting carrots. I'm sure mustard (as long as you're not allergic) would be a valuable addition to a carrot soup. OP commented the soup was meh. It probably was lacking in spices.

Neither will the plastic of a floss pick. And the floss pick is narrower so there is much less risk of deforming the interior parts of the plug. Also, less risk of splinters.

No doubt the idea is classic, and combined with the writing and performances shaped American sitcom. But, I fail to see how a British version would take anything away from the original, even if it becomes more popular (very unlikely) in the same way the American version of The Office overshadowed (at least to Americans) the original British version. If anything, it would just spark a renewed interest in the original for a generation and demographic that never saw the original in broadcasts or syndication. The original is a distinctly American take on pub culture from a particular time. With a new cultural reference and a new millennium I have no doubt that there are new stories to be told. I don't think an American reboot would hit the same though, too many expectations. A British version could be allowed to be different enough to be vital. The new show may suck, but it won't be because the whole concept is a bad idea.

Yeah, it's super weird. I once named a file with mixed case, but one of the letters was the wrong case. Renaming the file didn't work at first. Renaming a file named PAscalCase.txt to PascalCase.txt resulted in no change to the filename. Windows continued to show it as PAscalCase.txt. I had to rename it to something totally different with different characters entirely, then rename it again to get it right.
